I'm not Coldplay's biggest fan but the production on that set was phenomenal. We were in the top field of the pyramid and the view was incredible. It's a shame they didn't play violet hill properly other than the tease. We nearly didn't go and see Myles Smith but he was probably the moment of the weekend. Dan Smith from Bastille came out and did Pompeii with him. Then he played stargazing. Then the red arrows flew over!!! It was tears in the eyes final 15 minutes of the set. LCD Soundsystem as others have said was such a cool set in the sun/sunset. Bit of a shame they didn't play more tracks, I'd have like to have heard "you wanted a hit" among others but it was still really good. Fat Dog. If you know, you know. Jamie XX was good but too busy. Special shout out to the gateway stage again, fantastic little stage and the stand out this year was Mellowmatic, brilliant live hip hoppy/bass music. Skatalites were great in the sun too. And has nobody mentioned the Zutons?! Zuton Fever to start and end the set!!! Their new tracks sounded really good too. -
The reason is alliteration You would only get Saturday Scaries instead and my f**ked up Friday would have to become I don't know what, can't think of anything to work with Thursday

Agreed the "Singapore on Thames" liberal global village brexit that the Tories wanted was never the vision of the people who voted for Brexit. They were always going to get found out there and part of the reason they are about to get wiped out by both remainers and Brexiteers.

Superbly written by an excellent journalist however i suspect the sweeping changes called for would fall foul of the current licence and that the terms of the current licence would be hard to negotiate eg earlier and later opening and more stages on the thursday later and louder open air stages after midnight extension of silver hayes past 3am are all going to be a very hard sell
