I keep on holding out hope Mark Knopfler will walk back his decision to retire from touring. Even if he just goes down the Gilmour route and camps at a single venue for five nights, it'd be something.

Some rumours going he has some problems which effects him from playing the guitar. At least playing live night after night. He has not played live, not even one song, to promote his new album. I fear those days are really gone.

He didn't appear fully well on the Sky Music Legends series a few months back, quite slow moving.

Yeah, he's had a few nasty bouts of Covid-19. But the chatter was that he confirmed he'd be off the road for good way back in 2019, even before all this.

True, he made several statements on his 2019 tour that it would probably be the last one. He's never been a fan of festivals according his second man Guy Fletcher. Which probably explains why Dire Straits and Knopfler solo never played a lot festivals.

Tabloids have claimed Girls Aloud for Glasto '25 was an Emily wish-list item. But then I feel like the tabloid Glastonbury rumour mill is just "whomever might sort of get clicks, they're totally gonna do it"

I'm still puzzled by who booked Girls Aloud's tour. There were certainly comments that made me think they were up for Glastonbury, but they booked Liverpool the same weekend because vibes, I guess?

 

I thought Girls Aloud were going to go back on hiatus after the tour tbf, but maybe there were comments that they were going to have more shows that I missed.
