The Pyramid has always been a bit Radio 2. My first festival saw Jools Holland, Jimmy Cliff, Macy Gray, David Gray, Sugababes and Turin Brakes on there. Whereas last year it had SZA, Burna Boy, Janelle Monae, Little Simz, PJ Harvey, LCD Soundsystem and Seventeen playing.

You've conveniently omitted Paul Heaton, Keane, Coldplay, Cyndi Lauper, Shania Twain and Paloma Faith there, who are by all accounts very Radio 2

Yep, same as every year in the 21 since I first went. Some acts on the Pyramid would fit at Radio 2 Party in the Park, some wouldn’t.

I feel like I'm in a minority that is happy with this news. I would never go see him in concert but he is a genuine legend of music so the chance to see him live is something that I'd only get at Glasto.

Definitely done it to balance out the fact that they have no headliners for the baby boomer crowd this year.
