He didn't have any guests as far as I can remember in 09. I remember hearing about Macca joining him on stage once though.

Yep. Neil played Glastonbury on the Friday and then Hyde Park on the Saturday. He played a couple of songs more at Hyde Park but still ended with A Day In The Life, where Macca joined him. Neil was great in 2009. Hopefully just as great this year.

I know it's dangerous to try to re-live a great experience, but I have high hopes 🤞

Just bopping about in the kitchen (doing the cleaning) to a certain band and I had a revelation. If Glastonbury want the perfect budget "legends", this band has a good 5-6 widely known hits, and a brilliant "flash dance" song. I saw them at a festival the other year and they were definitely "good enough" to pull it off, but I think Buster is in his last legs, so make it happen quickly. Bad Manners! They would make a hell of a saving compared to booking Rods and Shanias, and the audience would eat it up 😁😁😁

They haven't ever been big enough for that status so it would be a money saving booking for sure!  And I've seen/heard enough of Buster Bloodvessel as I live in Margate, where he has a cult like following for some reason 🙂

Brilliant suggestion! I honestly reckon Bad Manners would be more fun that old Rod. They produced an incredible run of singles from 1980 to 1982. The crowd would certainly enjoy dancing to Lip Up Fatty, Special Brew, The Can Can and Just a Feeling, than listening to Rod croak through the dreary Sailing.

The cat sat next to me would be more fun than Rod

I know that's your opinion but what do you feel the glasto crowd will be like for Rod?

I predict absolute scenes and it going right off!

A combination of alcohol and Sunday afternoon irony (a strong characteristic of large numbers of attendees) will ensure a large crowd of over enthusiastic folks.

Down for it. In fact, I think I've suggested them in this very thread. The Legends Slot has gotten way too Hollywood. Give a home grown, working class-type band the big stage. Why the f**k not?
