He was born there I think - but for all practical purposes he's a UK act. He's got an MBE.

He has enough hits for every single song in set to be known by most. Great live band and he's amusing, self depreciating on stage, would be perfect afternoon Pyramid.

Might not be everyone’s choice but would be ideal on a Sunday afternoon

But yes he def fits a criteria of loads of singalong hits, great voice that carries and his band are amazing (which is not what can be said for a few legends recently).

Inasmuch as It's Not A Band Slot, It's Not A Rock Slot either. Arguably the latter is more of a rule. That said, there are worse candidates than Adams. danbailey80
Bryan Adams is a solo artist who usually plays with a backing band. Like Sting. And like Shania Twain, Diana Ross, Kylie. Barry Gibb, Jeff, Lionel Richie, Dolly etc. Yes, the more rock style thing is something unusual but they'd be moronic to not have someone on that slot because they were more rock than pop/ country...They are capable of moronic choices on the main stages though. I'd say the fact he is male is an issue if they don't have any female headliners or even only one.

For me the main thing working against him (in the short term) is that he's overly available - if they have the option to book an act like (for example) Cher who's older and unlikely to be available again, then they absolutely should do so. Adams is likely to still be available in 10 years time and so they can keep that card in the pocket and play it when they're stuck.
danbailey80
Indeed. It's hard to pick a 'Most Prone to Moronic Choices Stage' award but I think Pyramid just wins over The Other.

(Cher just isn't happening though but get your point)
A Particular Grey Chihuahu
It's be huge if they did get Cher though. The field would be packed!

The only small group of people in the world that have even considered the possibility of Cher, who doesn't tour anymore, can't sing and now mimes to headline a major festival is efestivals. 😂 Yep the field would be rammed. Would it be any good? Nope Edited September 26 by danbailey80

Would it be any good? Nope There's literally been press articles (yes, of debatable reliability) saying she's "in meaningful talks" to do it, so I'm not sure why you think it's a surprise we'd consider the possibility.. And nobody has said headline.

For me I would rather have him now when he can still sing than wait ten years and get into a Diana/Dolly situation. I would rather have a lesser act who can deliver than a legend who cant (sorry Cher!)
