Heres President Jimmy Carter at a Frankie Valli gig last week. Looks like he over did it on the edibles.

Typical f**king camping chair brigade.

Keep him away from Coldplay or they'll wheel him out and sing Fix You at him.

Indeed, the idea that in the current climate any festival, but especially this one, would want to give their best platform to someone who famously eulogised Powell is extraordinary.

i know michael has said hes not interested in having clapton, one of his close collegues used to ask for clapton all the time.

How good would that be, her powerful voice booming over the pyramid field? An act that would transcend the generations. True legend imo.

Already done it, to a mixed reception.

I thought he was brilliant but then I had got all his solo stuff. I had also seen him live both solo and with Garfunkel. He was much better solo!

I think his current output is far too mellow and almost too ambient to suit a gig. It would have to be a total bangers set or the reception would not even be mixed

I’m probably biased though after he put money behind the bar at the Hammersmith Odeon (Apollo) for all the audience to have a drink on him on the Still Crazy tour. I had two drinks. In those days two drinks wasn’t far off the ticket price

Two drinks can be not far off the ticket price in some places these days. Paid seven quid for a pint at The Wardrobe the other night.
