Legends Slot 2025

Personally, I thought the Rough and Rowdy Ways gigs at the Palladium last year were the best he's been since the Oh Mercy tour in 89/90. They were absolutely astonishing, and man, when he finished with a blast of that harmonica, like watching Picasso do a brushstroke. I know ain't nobody sings the blues like Blind Willie Mctell arthritic old Robert Z.

Surely everyone who books to see Dylan these days knows what they're getting? He's been doing gigs where he is clearly just doing what the hell he likes and the songs are barely recognisable for at least 10 years, probably a fair bit longer.

I know people who love it.

Never been a huge fan, but have a mate who saw him at least 20 years ago and pretty much said this.  Changed all the arrangements, illegible singing (using the term loosely) and pretty much played what he wanted, not what the crowd did.  Undoubtedly a Legend, but no way is he rolling out 75 mins of his classics in the original format for anyone.  I'm not sure he'd even be capable of doing it.

(closely followed by the people that claim Foals could/should headline)

There was a push for Wolf Alice at one stage aswell.

Looking at Paris for His Bobness in the unusual absence of an Irish date.

Yeah the re-aranged songs things is known.

The problem I have is that Bob himself sadly is not really contributing anything to the show anymore struggles though any kind of vocals and obviously has not played an Instrument at a live show in years.

Its no shame very few in there 80s would be able to still do this stuff.

For me theres was no fun in watching that. I just kind of felt sad at what I was seeing.

Seen that clip loads of times down the years. Every time there’s a Dylan documentary or story it’s shown. It must have haunted those guys all their lives!

Everyone has had a band right? You're definitely reaching, but I wouldn't be sad if they played. Not sure about legend though, they could nail the ZZ Top slot. f**k it. Get ZZ Top back too.

I just mean, band as in similar genre, rock and guitar and drums based music, like ELO, or Stevens. I think Toto would be big enough, personally. Every man and his dog has seen Africa in some guise, it's been parodied or covered from South Park to Comunity to orchestras... Plus add all the other hits and the dads, mums, students will be out en masse.

Also, I had no idea there was such a thing as a ZZ Top slot tho?!?!

When's that? After the Legends Slot and Teatime Slots? Before the Sunset Slot?

One of my favourite things ever was seeing people at a Dylan gig holding up their phones to try and use Shazam to identify the song he was playing. Brother, the technology for that ain't here yet, and I doubt it ever will be.

This is how we fight back against AI.

Confuse the f**k out of it until it just gives up.

I can hear Sarah Connor's voiceover now...

The Legend Slot is at least as much about the personality of the performer as it is about the songs.

No c**t could pick Toto out of a line up.

Also Bobby Kimball hasnt been in Toto for years and he sang all the well known tunes.

And, as the old saying goes, Toto without Bobby Kimball Is like Chicago without, it says here, Terry Kamm.

It's somewhat still a thing, recent years they had PJ Harvey, Foo Fighters and Robert Plant in the slot

Never seen that before. Hilarious. "Bob Dylan was a bastard in the second half." If I didn't know better I'd swear they were talking about United's poor form.
