So... They're not cancelling tickets found on reseller sites. Because, exactly as expected, they've no way to know who's selling them, and sharing that information would put the reseller site in breach of GDPR.

Instead they're cancelling those they 'think' used a bot, and upsetting a lot of genuine buyers in the process. Well done Ticketmaster / Oasis, well done... 🙄

Reckon there’ll be a bulk resale of these tickets at some point?

No. Itll be a small percentage. The smartest move is to release at the box office and have them be direct entry afterwards which wont allow any reselling. If people want them bad enough theyll queue up at the stadiums.

They'll just end up as resale tickets on TM. Loads have been going up recently. Few people in our Glasto ticket group have been snapping them up this week, not 'stupidly' expensive either, less than £200 I think.

They could do it by seat number, which will mean a load more innocent people losing their tickets what professional sellers listing random seat numbers speculatively hoping they can get any seat at some point

You cant lie about seat numbers on a listing so either you put them or you dont.

Do people generally list the seat number?

I only ever buy GA / Floor / Pitch so have no idea, and hadn't considered that.

An interesting one, someone on Reddit saying that they'd been told by Ticketmaster that using auto fill in on forms can have you flagged as a bot

That's daft, most people use autofill, don't they?

I've just checked, and only 'Row' is listed on Viagogo.... No seat numbers are listed at all.

Obviously Manchester is all GA anyway.

Edit: Tixel is the same, row only... Stub Hub lists the seat though...

Viagogo does show seat numbers.  Just click the seat icon next to the Face Value icon.  But as has been said, there's nothing to stop people listing the row behind or whatever.

Just by setting up alerts?

Essentially yes, not involved but I think they're using a 3rd party who's scraping the site to get alerts faster. But yeh, haven't paid much attention, as I don't need tickets.

So it does, I stand corrected. I wonder if it's behind a captcha for this reason?
