Looking forward to Bloc Party ๐Ÿฅณย

NBT for their first headline as a UK exclusive will surely be good, and a sub slot for TLDP will be fun.

ย

hoping for more alternative / post-punk acts to be added lower down in the next announcement, last year the likes ofย

Yard Act, Heartworms, Bob Vylan, Personal Trainer, English Teacher were ace ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ

Yeah I'm the same. I feel like there's a bit of a gap in terms of the more alternative acts in this first announcement, bar a couple.

Bloc Party on the Thursday is nice, but do concur it feels a little strange to spot them there. Must be my age, but assumed they were still a bigger draw than Nothing But Thieves.

A curio tbf is that they played in equal spots on the Other Stage at Glastonbury - both 4th from top.

ย

Guess the fact NBT did 2 nights at Wembley Arena and a Birmingham NEC date in 2023 helps.

It is a nice chilled vibe with people of all ages, but I think it's only fair to mention the alcohol limits which are strictly enforced, and are a stupid pain in the ass.

24 cans for a 3 day festival isn't really that bad. It wasn't hard to smuggle in extra spirits etc we found

Was the queue to get out on the Monday still dreadful? I left on Sunday straight after Two Door in 2019 but I remember hearing from my cousin that it was a f**king long wait in traffic.

Yeah it wasn't great considering its such a small festival. Reckon it took us about 45 minutes with us leaving around 11 (barely any tents left when we got out the gates)

Google NBT allegations. sh*t band, even worse booking.

ย

Hard to argue IDLES who did thursday aren't bigger than Wet Leg

Went and had a look back in my chat and my cousin said she took a lot longer than 45 mins to get out the joint in 2019 - was more like 3 hours or something. 45 minutes sounds like an improvement ngl.

ย

I was surprised as to how few left after the last acts on Sunday like I did tbf.

Below taken from their socials;

ย

"We're now at a staggering ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฏ,๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฌ pre-sale sign ups and we have 10,000 tickets left to sell".

ย

I know PR teams over egg things but if true with the quality lineup and size of the festivalย it could be a fairly quick sell out.

They said they had 20k signed up for pre-sale last year and it took a long while to sell out so I'd take it with a pinch of salt.

Hi people

ย

I'm kind liking the line up announcement.

I've never been to Truck - generally Glasto and Latitude. I love Latitude coz of the actual site - really pretty and lots of woods!

I think Truck is more like a Reading site - just big, wide open - not many cool areas.

ย

Correct me? What's it like? What's the vibe?

ย

Thank youย ๐Ÿ˜‰

No worries, these things happen! Sounds like Kasabian were signed up to replace them. Nice little Leicester theme with Hard Life and Kasabian together assuming that running order stays similar.

The 'vibe' is much nicer than Reading. It's a younger crowd but also a mix of people- not like Reading where it's almost exclusively teenagers. The crowd which gets drawn is more dependant on the line up too.

ย

However, in terms of 'areas' - it's pretty boring. If you're not going mainly for the music, it could be a bit underwhelming. There's really only the main stage, the main tent and a few smaller stages. There's not really anything else happening in terms of scenic locations or entertainment.

Does anyone go into Didcot during the day for food and drink? The weekend pass for the bus seems very reasonable.

Why bother? There's a village nearby which is 20 mins walk away with a co-op and a few pubs.

ย

Didcot is a bit of a dump at best - not sure why you'd bother especially during a festival you've paid ยฃ100+ for

Thanks for this - it's what I'd imagined. Not a bad thing at all I guess. I'm deeeeeply underwhelmed by latitude so far this year. But I do enjoy the location. The Barn sounds fun at Truck!! Appreciate your reply ๐Ÿ˜‰
