Truck Festival 2025

Recommended Posts

I said previously in another thread but I spoke with Jack from at the end of last year and he said they were all taking time away. Obviously its been quite a while already but who knows how long the hiatus will be.

Wolf Alice, Biffy Clyro Madness with Bloc Party To sub or headline Thursday.

Interesting I think WA for Thursday then Biffy, Bloc Party and one other. I didn't realise Madness were meant to be around in 2025 tbf.

If it was Wolf Alice, Bloc Party and Biffy Clyro, that might be worth my while to go.

I get the idea with Bloc Party headlining Live at Leeds it's the exact thing The Kooks did and subbed truck. Reason they can do it is likely due to a double deal with either Y Not or Kendal likely.

I feel like Bloc are big enough for a headline spot at this tbf, if only because Franz Ferdinand have done it in the past and I'd argue BP are of a similar level. But I guess we'll see.

Have we had any indication whatsoever that Foals or Wolf Alice are even touring next year?

Probably say no for Foals and not sure regarding Wolf Alice.

Sorry if I’m going over old ground but what was the info that suggested Biffy were likely for this?

Truck were reposting some people’s favourite albums so we were just wondering if any of those they reposted were hints.

Bloc Party sold out Crystal Palace park (not bowl) month+ in advance. They are definitely a headliner, or thursday at worst.

Guess they could be in a kooks style slot.

Arguably Kooks were bigger than Wet Leg last year to begin with, same with IDLES.

Wet Leg being whacked on saturday suggests that anything could happen really

I think those festivals can be strange as well as someone can headline one of them while being the special guest at another. I know it's not London but I'd say given Oxford is down south and not that far away they would be a good Thursday shout.

yeah Wet Leg headliner Saturday was quite strange for me, dont think a band should ever headliner a festival with only one album tbh

I think it’s probably due to The Kooks being at other non Superstruck events. It’s probably part of negotiations where they say you’re playing other festivals so you’re being paid less/subbing instead as Live At Leeds In The Park might take tickets away from Truck etc. So I think Bloc Party could sub or headline Thursday because of that reason.

Agreed, I think they were trying to tick the "female" headliner box and panic booked

If those festivals wanted to do well then booking Bloc Party, Biffy Clyro, Madness and Alanis to tick the female option would be a good do for them.

Alanis completely doesn't fit the vibe of truck

Also the fact you suggest her shows the issue - there just aren't enough big female acts yet, especially for band focused festivals. Booking wet leg is a big step towards fixing it i guess, but it was definitely a year early.

Could look like a mega booking in a few years time, but definitely wasn't this year!

i also think there was something about IDLES only been able to do Thursday, maybe they were switched around

That woud make perfect sense and would have made the lineup look more balanced. IDLES Thursday looked so odd especially the same year they were Glasto Other headliner.

This was exactly my thoughts. Who's around, does it but probably not but it's ticking their female box. You shouldn't just need to tick, should be an automatic box filler.

yeah, would have shifted a fair amount of early entry tickets as well, idles have had a much bigger 2024 than most were expecting i imagine

they were bumped up to this - after their slot was agreed at truck (and at glasto)

They were originally subbing other - which the streets also did

I get that it was a bump at Glastonbury but still looke like a cracking booking for Truck.

TBF Truck do usually get a strong top lline, which is why I am happy to go blind and buy tickets early.
