BST 2025

Absolutely is. I haven't seen where the Stones are rumoured this time, though Sunderland would make sense if they are trying to spread the love geographically outside of London. They haven't played the north east since 1990 at St James' Park.

There talk of a Stones show in Sunderland or this something just brought up here to speculate on what they're planning to do?

Speculation, sadly. I think they'll do two, and one is inevitably going to be London, so it's just figuring out where else they might go.

Well I assume if the rumours are true that the Stones are back on tour and planning to return to the UK for the first time in a little while next year that we'll hear something tangible soon.

Even if it is slightly strange that the big announcement for a stadium tour this week was Stereophonics.

Wouldn't expect to hear anything for a while. Stones tours might get pencilled in well in advance, but they tend to get announced much later than other big shows.

Probably looking at early next year for that announcement.

Wonder if we get a BST date this week with the Olivia announcement

There will be more dates than the ones for Manchester. Perhaps she will also headline some festivals ??

Don't want to suggest the Rolling Stones only three years on from their last runaround, but not implausible.

If The Killers want a big meaty London one-off next year, then perhaps - though I'd argue with all those shows at The O2 Arena, they'd do better to come back around in 2026 instead.

they definitely wouldn't need to wait a year even after those 6 o2 shows to sell out a single BST date. huge selling power

I think if Brandon is indeed taking the year out for solo stuff though, we won't see this.

I'd wager that they'll return in late 2026 or early 2027 with a new record. The fact that all four of them played the Vegas residency suggests they're all at an understanding again after a few years where they seem to have vaguely hand-waved the whole thing.

Either that, or they man up and give us a Battle Born anniversary show. If Bruce Springsteen tells you it's the best record you've put out, it deserves a little more love. Was gutted that the title track returned and was then dropped after two or three turns on the Rebel Diamonds run.

Yep of course, was just making the point they wouldn't remotely struggle to sell it

Certainly, we have the precedent for them using BST Hyde Park for a comeback show in the UK given this is what they did in 2017 when they came back after being away for a while. I would know given I went to that one.

I remember thinking it was a good setlist, and then it kind of became the de-facto base template for a lot of shows over the subsequent seven years.

When they started reaching back early on in the Rebel Diamonds run and you were getting shows that dug their heels in elsewhere, it seemed like the possibilities were going to be great - Lightning Fields, Quiet TownHere with MeBattle Born. They've walked it back slightly, but still.

Certainly, my setlist for Killers at the O2 in July was a fairly straight forward one. Battle Born would've been awesome as that was great on the tour itself, but seems to have fallen by the wayside since then.

Though we did get Bling, which I hadn't heard in years, and a first ever time hearing Andy You're A Star, which unexpectedly slapped. Even if I'd have gladly traded it for Midnight Show.

They play an average of twenty at their own show. The live band seems well-drilled beyond the obvious. You could keep an obvious static ten and then run wild properly every other night.

If Sam Fender is indeed back on the road next summer, here's not a terrible shout.

That being said, I think he would rather take aim at his own stadium show. Carries a little more heft and weight.

I think own shows right now is the way for him. He would have been chosen for Glastonbury if it wasn't for Fred and Olivia. I think Glastonbury just believe that Fred has less of a longer longevity than Sam.

A lot of people at Greasy Lake remain convinced he'll add a London finale to the tour. I don't think he will. Milan is another very popular city for the E Street Band and they've already rinsed the English capital with four big gigs in the last two years.

Fred is by no means a lock at this point to be fair

The things in favour of a London / BST finale is that the dates work extremely well with the pattern of the tour and that BST is the type of place that'll throw money at it to make it happen.

I don't think BST was planned for - and agree that it probably won't happen - but if they were still looking for a headliner for that day, I could easily see them making an offer too big to turn down. They know it'd sell out anyway so wouldn't care how many London shows there'd been in the recent past.

I suppose that could be the case.

Selfishly, as I am at Milan #2 - and booked London #1 this year before the second show - I'm hoping to actually be on the tour end for once.

Was 21 at my July show, although this did include both Enterlude and Exitlude. My Own Soul's Warning remains a belter though so I was glad we got that, even if I was a little disappointed not to get The Man as that's always good fun live.

But I do ponder if a lot of the energy was expended the night before when they played the final minutes of England's win in the Euro's semi on a big screen during the show and then played the originally planned closer Mr Brightside as a big celebration song.
