Saw them at V Festival in, I think, 2007. Awful. Really dull, no engagement with the crowd and I didn't enjoy it at all.

However, their early stuff remains a good listen and I have had a go at their newest album which I liked. So a second chance for KoL. Still don't think they are a "good" headliner, but there are not many of those about anymore.

I've never seen anyone say they were anything but really boring live. I saw them at Summercase in 2008 and left halfway through to change my shirt lol

it was V 2008 that was grim, and i fully agree

buuuut they were great at Birmingham Academy...should of stuck to that level, got lost in Arenas and Headline slots

I left, thinking they'd finished their set. They hadn't.

I'd always heard great things about them when they were on the way up, think you're right in saying they're out of their depth. Hopefully they'll deliver, we'll see.

I was at that gig at V (it was 2008) and I found it anything but boring... The crowd was really tight and they were heavy, but that's because they were playing the earlier stuff which had far more energy... The newer stuff is really tame and the live shows have really gone down hill.

I think they will co-headline, but tbh, not sure how can any festival consider KoL headline material.

I can live with that, my expectation was already to stay at Heineken, if there is nothing interesting, a nice slot for dinner.

What are you guys on about, they are clearly a headliner. The headlined mad cool 2022 and Rock am Ring 2023. And if there would to be a Co headliner, it would be a strong sub under them.

And the thought of them being a one hit wonder is laughable, they had many hits before Only By The Night and after. That's like saying The Killers is a one hit wonder just because everyone knows Mr Brightside

Blimey this is weak... KOL were great 15 years ago, but I walked away when they were playing at RW in 2017 as it was extremely boring. No NOS for me this year!

Agree that that show was a big snooze fest. KoL just aren't a very exciting live band.

A contrast given the only 3 times I've seen them have been much bigger in scale.

Though I thought they were rather good when I first saw them at the MK Bowl in 2014. It may have helped that I had low expectations because a lot of people gave me the impression they'd be sh*t and I actually came away liking it. Plus playing Red Morning Light helped.

See NOS Alive's 2018 poster, see alive's 2019 poster, from then on I never create expectations in relation to the names again, it's the best they do...

Kings of Leon haven't been to Portugal for 12 years... so it's good, because Portugal is always bringing the same bands.

This I agree with, it's been 12 years, glad they are back, they just can't be headliners, they are nowhere nearly as relevant as they were 12 years ago. If they were gonna go get a name from the 2013 line up, couldn't it be Green Day? Just bizarre choices.

Well remembered. They did sub.

Interesting how differently we remember the show. I wasn't blown away by them being announced, but I am keen to give them another try.
