Hilarious if they announce ticketing info today given the SeeTickets website has been down all day.

At least it'll be middle of the afternoon. I've been using an AIRALO esim in this trip (the Asia one covers Laos..) and data signal has been good throughout Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand so you could hotspot to a tablet etc.

 

Be careful with VPN though.....See detected my NordVPN last year when I was testing prior to sale.

Yup Seetickets still blocking access when using NordVPN....at least from Thailand using a UK server...

I started using SurfShark vpn earlier this year and have to say I've had absolutely no issues with it at all from out of the country. Found Nord and Express weren't working with a lot of sites. I do pay for Surfshark though so am able to pick my location to which I find helps when one connection is poor.

I'm currently paying for Norton which comes with a VPN. Any reason to anticipate issues using that - or should I get SurfShark just to be on the safe side?

I switched from Nord to Surfshark a few years ago and find it much much better. There's a tonne of offers/voucher codes out there which make it dirt cheap

So far on trips to Thailand we've... watched Princess Diana's funeral in a bar in Khaosan Road, watched 9/11 unfold on Koh Samui, experienced the death of HM Queen Elizabeth on Koh Samui and watched her funeral, again in a beachfront bar with a beer.

 

Strange times indeed.

Have you tested the Norton VPN to Seetickets while here?  If it's not blocked using a UK server while here then I wouldn't expect it to be blocked when halfway down the Mekong tbh.

So I'm 3 weeks behind conversations as per fking usual. So this Seetickets message is because of my work VPN - why has that only just started happening this year? Not that I need to buy tickets but still...

Probably because you weren't the only person using the VPN to connect and either someone went miles OTT or too many people tried at once. Probably a mixture of both. It's worth noting that any blacklist will likely be across all Seetickets sites, not just the Glastonbury one so whatever triggered this may not have involved you at all.

Before we get too deep into the VPN thing it's probably worth saying that unless you've got concerns over the security of your connection - given that you're hopefully going to be making a ticket deposit purchase - there's really no great need to use one, and although anecdotal evidence may likely suggest otherwise there's also nothing to prove that using one would give you a better chance at securing that elusive ticket session on Seetickets....in fact as conversation above shows it's more likely to hinder your chances.
