Has anyone ever put together an "idiots" guide to the ticket day/buying process? I've got people who are getting involved for the first time and they need their hand holding.

There is one from last year on the Festival Website - https://glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/news/2024-ticket-sale-faq/

Hope this helps! 😊

Just an update to say - I no longer stand by anything I've previously posted in this thread.

Not going to go into details at this point, but I've got good reason to think certain key things are going to behave differently than we've seen before - and that we might even see a "proper" queue.

The jargon on the sale announcement on the website doesn't seem any different?

It wouldn't need to. It doesn't go into anywhere near the level of detail this thread does.

Same underlying system, some key tweaks in how it works that might affect "tactics".

I *think* more along the lines of "place allocated by the exact microsecond after opening that you hit the site" rather than "waiting room and random place".

Would massively complicate bus sale … unless this is main sale only

It'd be for everything.

Not sure why coach sale would be any different, it was already a clusterf**k of what's available once you get in.

Because you could only chose one departure city /town I guess . Some may end up with seats remaining unless I guess you could get in several queues … how would you queue for a selected departure time from a city that lists by times … allocated first available bus I’d guess

I don't have any reason to think that aspect would be any different than previously - ie you go to a page for either Wednesday or Thursday, and then the page has a drop down list of departure points and what you can (or cannot ) select. Like so:

I've always wondered - dumb question - does someone flick a switch to 'on' (ie not necessarily precisely on 9am) or is it automatic (therefore as precise as you'd likely to get)?

Or which clock does see operate too
