Correct. No confirmation from the festival or See yet and there may not be.
    Speculation is based on some subtle changes in the browser to server communications.

    It could be in preparation for the sale or it could simply be an overall technical upgrade of the See compute infrastructure.

I think we have had this discussion some time ago, maybe last year. The consensus seemed to be that offering rewards in the current system represented a trust risk: either the person buying the tickets needs to trust that the person wanting the tickets will reimburse them; or the person wanting the tickets needs to trust the person buying by sharing their card info.

That's why it currently works for ticket buying groups where everyone agrees to help each other out.
But wouldn't work for, say, a social media influencer and their followers.

Ah thank you dotdash79 and MikeA for update. I can't see them doing it. Somebody far far away in this thread said it could mean a lot of 1st timers getting through.  Which might make the tourist areas like SE corner even more congested.  I want lots of 1st timers. But congestion means it has to be balanced

If theyre going to switch it up its in for 2027 because they will have had 2 years to make the system better and to use it in many other onsales so that potential glasto ticket buyers will have more experience. If you botch this onsale with a new system you will have to make it right for the next one and thats pressure you dont need. Do the opposite. And its bad form to use this big of a sale to implement a new system.

it gets tricky but there would have to be a glitch in the system to allow this to happen anyway. Coachella onsales had this loophole for a few years. If you got into the buy page and had finished your transaction, you could go back to the beginning and its a diff page url than when you started. It had the ability to be shared and there wasnt anything to stop the sharing of that url cause for some reason they didnt code it to have to check its the original persons token to id them.

Not so.  The way it works is that See automatically hand off customers to Queue-It, who direct them to virtual waiting rooms distributed across multiple data centres.  They can handle 100 million in waiting rooms apparently.... feeding them back to See at predetermined rates at sale start.

Click on the "Queue ID:" branding at the bottom of the queue window....it should open another window that then allows you to copy the link as a URL and send it it someone else for them to paste into a browser.

The kendal calling presale this morning (on kendalcalling.seetickets.com) did not use the Queue-it system, but was hosted on the Akamai CDN servers. This could be viewed as making the use of Queue-it for glastonbury less likely. Of course kendal isn't anywhere near the same level of demand as glastonbury, but it was another opportunity for See to setup the queue and check it all runs okay, but they did not.

The http response headers have x-queueit-connector tag present for glasto seetickets...

 

So with 100 times more traffic it's still more likely to use the queue 

 

Also kendal doesn't sell out all their tickets they release in batches.

The x-queueit-connector tag is now present for absolutely every page on seetickets.com, even, for example, the customer service page, where I doubt they ever plan on running a queue.

 

If the queue is actually being implemented you can see it in the network log. The queue is still active for the Sam Fender sale, so if you go to: https://www.seetickets.com/event/sam-fender/co-op-live/3205068 (this is for the Manchester Friday date, but all other dates have the queue as well). Then you should see something like this:

 

 

This will give you the Queue-it cookies which grant access to the page for a set amount of time:

 

Any subsequent refreshes of the page don't go through the queue if the cookie is still valid.

 

If we see this sort of behaviour on glastonbury.seetickets.com before the sale, then that would strongly suggest the use of a queue.

 

I agree at this point the use of a queue, at least to me, is more likely than not, but probably not by much (maybe 60/40).

Little concerning if its as easy as pass on the queue ID to someone to give them your slot.  

 

Open to all kinds of abuse by bot or someone with hundreds of people connecting just to get queue ids high in the queue

If there's a bots involved, then there would likely be no need to pass over a slot in the queue - in a well designed setup it will already be easy enough to take control of any given session as needed so there'd be no benefit (and actually, introducing a risk as it could f**k up) in transferring a queue slot from one session to another.

 

Still not convinced that these people roping in hundreds of others to help on their behalf was or is ever likely to be a thing. Just on the basis that anyone in a position to do that (social media influencers, rich bastards, etc), is already likely to be in a position where they can use their status to get a ticket via another route (and probably a Hospitality ticket so they don't have to associate with the unwashed scum like me).

Agree on this if someone did something like that then it would be quite public and they would get a big backlash, better to go another route.

They cant be this thick to assume they could drop a new ticketing system just days before a sale. Theyve already had to dodge stuff like that before. The press will call them out easily. Since the Oasis stuff there has been way more criticism on how things get sold and to have there be a lot of transparency. Theyll hold the course and leave it be.

They might stil do we just don’t know . I think a login to see is now out the question though as they will utterly balls that up and we’ve had no request to make sure we can login but the rest the process is lightly within what they already have on the website

the thing is there will be something found from the coach sale that can be used for the big day. Thats one of their weaknesses anyway is that you give the tech savvy a practice run to find out what theyre doing and apply it 72 hours later on a massive scale. Its always one of the advantages of living stateside when major tours  go on sale. A multiple hour window to see how others fare during onsales is crucial nowadays. Made a big difference for me during Oasis and getting those Dublin tickets then Cardiff an hour later.

Do we need to book the Monday off work ? ….. for the coach sale
