This doesn’t surprise me. The phone signal is amazing at Base Camp (I was there in 2014). They have a dedicated mast for the expeditions.

I got some in 2014 on a flight from Australia using Singapore Airlines WIFI.

Conversely, I had three independent devices on Thursday and this morning and never got more than two bars. 😂

Main thing I think I've learned from Thursday and today is that if you're still on 2 progress bars after the first 5 minutes or so* of the sale, then you're almost certainly not going to get anywhere near the booking page, so at least that'll help manage expectations in the future; we'll already know we're screwed long before it sells out.

*On my phone, the bars started creeping up from about 7 or 8 minutes past 9, but only got to just over half way before sell out.

Yup. 4 bars at 10 past 9 probably tells you hope is little.

If we're going to have a lottery system then I vote for entering your reg details BEFORE you're randomly assigned a place in the queue.

That would level the playing field wouldn't it?

Yep. Very straightforward change that they should really be looking at for the sales in two years time.

It would a bit, but you would just have people setting up multiple registrations

Think this system is definitely fairer, but could be fine-tuned, there must be something in filling in reg numbers for a group before joining the queue, so you only have 1 unique place per person in the group?

FYI I got tickets last year and this year so have limited bias to the new system.

Any top tips? you seem to be Jedi for tiks 🙂

Nope, just sheer luck. My mate on his work VPN had the green bar moving on two browsers within a minute or two.

Another mate got in just before sell out, tried for another group of 6 but it wouldn't accept my mate's postcode. Sold out before it got resolved. Brutal.

Got tickets for one of our three groups 2 mins before they sold out this morning. Got through on Thursday just as tickets had gone for the Wednesday and couldn’t go back to select Thursday departures so feeing very happy that I managed to get them today. Had a right time of it earlier this year trying and failing for tickets in each sale and competition that came and went so really, really happy this morning but that was bloody stressful to say the least.

Have max 2 tickets per transaction - it will impact the Pennards Sofa Squatters and make folks more open to mixing with strangers !

“Pennards Sofa Squatters” 😂 That’s another one to add to picnic blanket posse and “went to Glastonbury by mistake” crew

There’d always be some people who tried to game it like this (it’s the main reason a ballot wouldn’t work) but it’d cut it down massively. Anything to make it any fairer can never be a bad thing even if there are always gonna be dickheads who try to spoil it.

Was only one in our group successful, but in the best way possible. Was staring at a load of two bar windows, assuming the worst, when there suddenly a ‘ding’ noise. I’d forgotten I’d set up another desktop on my Mac with a load of chrome windows in case See didn’t block multiple attempts. One of them got through.

So for 30 minutes I was assuming I had no chance, then out of the blue got a booking page.

Have to say - if the festival say one browser, one device, then they need to implement that. I think all most people want is fairness. Feel bad for people who followed what they were told to do and missed out, when it’s clear best option was multiple different sessions.

what sort of time was that? did it go from 2 straight to 20?

Yep…According to our WhatsApp chat, 9.13 it jumped right up to 20. 9.15 he posted again saying in. So obviously moved very fast then! Purchased by 9.22. Back and resubmit did nothing.

Hi! Question because I’m in a bit of a stressful situation. I have a current order confirmation from seetickets but the card was declined and the credit card company confirms they declined the charge but will allow it if charged again. It’s still showing on Seetickets as a valid order. I have already contacted via email asking they charge again.

Has this happened to anyone else? Were they cancelled for you in the end or were you able to pay? Is there any way to reach them other than the email form? No phone number I have found has worked.

Thanks! Freaking out a bit.

UPDATE: seetickets emailed back already saying they have the order as paid - but not on my cc and cc company said it was declined - soooooo…. Fingers crossed?

Skin of the teeth stuff for me.

I got Access Denied twice after I entered our reg details. Pressed back, cleared the form and retyped everything which thankfully worked.

Then it was on to card details. 3 times my credit card didn't send an authentication message to my phone. I ended up jumping to another in the groups credit card and only after the 2nd attempt did the authorisation message eventually appear... I had 8 seconds left before the tickets were released and I'm pretty sure I was one of, if not the last,  to bag them as my other computer popped up sold out seconds after I got the ticket confirmation page.

Sweating.
