Foster the people ? Confidence Men? Empire of the Sun ? DMAs ? The Temper Trap ? heaps of possibilities Seen Fender tonight in Dublin. He's got more of a stage presence now, new album out, was class (even though he annoyingly didn't play Dead Boys or Dying Light)
RosieE
Kings of Leon in UK over the summer in 2025. Would be amazing if they played a set at Sziget.
nico727
The Kooks announced for Grape Festival in Slovakia. They share names with Sziget every year.

It's a Superstruct event. Would love Vampire Weekend. If it's not fake it indicates QOTSA around around Europe all summer and must be a strong candidate for the indie/rock headliner on the island. It's real - just confirmed. Really hope we can/do get some of these.

We got very few crossovers this year. We only got: Royel Otis, Yard Act and Louis Tomlinson. However, like others, I wouldn't mind Vampire Weekend at all. What about Nelly Furtado as it seems to be more typical for Sziget crowd? Nelly Furtado was on the Wishmachine - as were a lot of the acts circulating at the moment (and a lot who aren't.....as yet!) I think she'd be an interesting booking. As long as she includes 'the hits' in her setlist then I think she'd go down well.

I'm thinkin 3 headliners. Post, Chappell, Armin I think they would look like clowns with 1 or 2 headliners looking at all the other announcements already in Europe. Possibly they delayed because of this

Possibly they delayed because of this I feel like we'll have something like two headliners a day, with very few being actually huge. if that was the case, I can see Justice being announced as headliners amongst the three you mentioned, and perhaps one of the Victorious headliners (QOTSA/KoL/Vampire Weekend) and one between Olivia, Charli and Sabrina. not seeing anyone of this bunch as non-headliners if Armin van Buuren is (and no - he is not on the same level as Garrix, Harris and Guetta)

And that tends to sell tickets - brand recognition.
cirez21
Just now, billybigballs said: I think the EDM crowd will know van Buuren but the average punter will know songs by Garrix, Harris and Guetta far more. And that tends to sell tickets - brand recognition. the edm crowd completely moved on from him as far as I know. but yeah, the point is mostly what you said - whereas acts like the three I've mentioned, Kygo, Zedd, Tiesto, Swedish House Mafia, Alesso and many more all have dozens of songs that got into the mainstream and many people know, AvB has something like three (and I'm being generous) I don't dislike edm and have been a huge fan of the genre in the past, yet I sincerely hope they really didn't waste the money and the spot on him
Matt86
I saw Armin Van Buuren last year at Main Square Festival, which is a main musics fest', and I was surprised by how many people were there, knowing the guy... ! Considering how many people from the Netherlands are coming to Sziget, Armin being himself dutch, well ... I'm not surprised anymore 🙂 And I'm also glad, because he is great, one of the very very best , truly

I’m not saying she is bad IDC I’m just curious what is this all about cos I have never heard of someone this seemingly unknown yet being so big in festivals apparently for some reason. Not wishing to reignite last night's debate but as a small indicator of her size, I was just looking at Way Out West festival's Instagram and the 'likes' received by each act as they were announced. They were: Wet Leg - 1282 Khruangbin - 1776 Fontaines D.C - 1980 Chappell Roan - 8667
Collin34
I know i’m about to something which is probably impossible but Kendrick Lamar is going on tour next year, NA tour dates ending mid june.. He’s probably coming to europe after that - or after the summer. IF he comes to europe that would be a mega booking for sziget. I think he’s one of the biggest artists in the world right now, he had a crazy year. But yeah because of that, i don’t think it’s happening. Think he’s too big for Sziget nowadays edit: by the way.. timing of the announcement is funny isn’t it… Nah, guess i’m just wishful thinking Edited December 3 by Collin34
Collin34
Also, he has a very special connection to football. He’s hosting the american football superbowl.. I’m going down a rabbit hole here. Someone get me out of this

I'd have no interest in the latter but the former would be insane. That said, I'd still prefer it if they finally gave us Wet Leg 🤣 Edited December 3 by billybigballs

He hasn't announced any EU dates so far, so that would be exclusive, as he is also a Coachella headliner and has his own stadium tour (+ Chappell Roan is also going to crossover with R&L)

( I won’t say 100% because anything can happen, but he is headlining R&L) It would be great to finally see a huge proper rap/hip-hop headliner at Sziget. Last time it was Kendrick Lamar in 2018. Btw. Wondering if you all knew that, Travis Scott performed at Sziget back in 2016.

My brother is 14 and him and all his mates like Travis so I suspect Sziget would be crawling with kiddy day ticket holders.
