Damiano David going on World Tour from September. I'm thinking in this guy from Tale of us can all of the sudden be a headliner after going solo wouldn't be surprised if same happens here. Imo his first singles are better quality than Maneskin post Eurovision work.

If they have Palaye Royale, Damiano David doesn't seem unreasonable. Not sure he's at headline level yet though.

Didn't someone ask Leaks if Sziget was trying to become like Exit Festival? Lord help us if it is, this is their first announcement for 2025 - Sex Pistols and The Boomtown Rats? What decade is this?

Mind you, still better than we've got so far 🤣 (joke!!)

Really trying at least one / if not two / of them.

Just a reminder. That was for Chapelle Roan, Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo.
So they are / maybe / still trying Sabrina Carpenter or Olivia Rodrigo.

Both Sabrina and Olivia are in Europe in early July so it might be possible.

However, the first day and last day of the festival are usually reserved for the two biggest named acts and they're already taken.

Are they likely to be staying for the whole summer though right through to August? At the moment all Sabrina seems to have announced is Primavera Sound in early June and BST in early July. Not sure if she’s going to be spending all summer in Europe doing festival after festival or if she’s just popping over a couple of times for selected gigs.

Olivia is already announced for 7 European festivals between 21 June and 18 July but the last one is like three weeks before Sziget. She might well be leaving Europe before Sziget.

My thinking for the other headliners is one rapper (Post Malone), a rock band (Kings of Leon or Vampire Weekend most likely) and another DJ (maybe Fatboy Slim)

I'm 100% sure one of them will come. 100%

I think it would be a real gain for the festival if they get either (but especially Sabrina at the moment) but I do wonder if the organisers would really want to run with three female pop headliners. Especially given the severe lack of anything similar on the undercard.

I think the key could be that Olivia Rodrigo's first tour date is in late June at Pinkpop.

Wouldn't make too much sense to stay in Europe for less than a month, would it?

The ones who are not staying in August are starting their tour late May/early June afaik.

Only currently seven dates while in Europe too, which seems a bit sparse. However, nothing after 18 July and first date she could play Sziget is almost three weeks later. She needs at least two or three other bookings in that time to make it worth her while staying for Sziget. What options are there?

Anyone else notice Dreher isn't listed as a sponsor or partner on the website this year?

Might have something to do with the end of Balaton Sound. One of its main sponsors was Heineken, so if the disappearance of Dreher’s not accidental, I think Heineken’s one of the top possibilities.

Coincidentally Balaton Sound had a new main stage last year, with a 60-meter wide led wall. Would be a waste to let it collect the dust in a warehouse, wouldn’t it?https://www.facebook.com/BalatonSound/videos/hello-brand-new-heineken-balaton-sound-main-stage-let-us-introduce-our-60-meter-/531871772439436/

There’s a bit of a dry spell in the European festival calendar the last week in July and first week of August. Sziget kicks off the late summer wave of festivals which includes the likes of Flow Festival in Finland, Way out West in Sweden, Boardmasters in the UK, Pukkelpop in Belgium, Rock En Seine in France.

We are already sharing Chappell Roan with Rock En Seine, Charli and Chappell with Way out West, Charli and Kneecap with Flow. London Grammar have been announced for Rock En Seine and Boardmasters so might potentially be in play for Sziget but not as headliner. Pukkelpop hasn’t announced yet but could be a major clue as to who can be in the next wave for Sziget.

I think Sziget would love to land Olivia Rodrigo but the question is whether she’s going back to the states mid July or staying in Europe to do most/all of the August festivals I mentioned in this post.

Dua in 2022 did Europe May, June... Went to US/Canada for 4 events in July and in August only Sziget and her own festival in Kosovo. South America in September. I think Olivia like many celebrities would like to spend a couple of weeks vacationing on Mediterranean coast so she may be around.

I hope you’re right. Olivia would be a great fit.

I wouldn't rule out Shawn Mendes for the last headliner. He still hasn't announced his Europe summer tour yet

He is insufferable so I’m hoping it’s not him. Also it doesn’t need to be an either/or with him or O-Rod as we have at least 3 headliners left to go, maybe more if there are co headlines.

If Olivia or Shawn are headlining, they aren't co-headlining. The only one announced so far which could be co-headline is Anyma

Nice catch, seems very likely on both fronts.

Any of the three current headliners could co-headline but you’re right that CharliXCX/Chappell Roan would be the more senior co-headliner:
