Rose-Colored Boy
When did BFMV last play? Have they ever? Would be a cool booking.
NorthernSoul52
Don't think I'd twigged how genuinely big Turnstile appear to be. We can strike them out of the conversation given they are a UK exclusive to Outbreak's London date though.

And like many major British metal acts of the past fifty years, never have played Worthy Farm. Still believe that if we're having a Legends Slot on a Sunday teatime, we should have a dedicated mid-size metal slot somewhere on the main stages. Thought we’d start getting somewhere when Metallica and Motörhead played in consecutive years but never really kicked on from there. I know Michael previously had his reasons for not booking ‘heavy’ acts but it’s quite outdated thinking these days.
NorthernSoul52
Yeah, it's poor thinking. The only active British metal act conceivably out of reach to the festival is Iron Maiden - mostly because they would accept nothing but headlining the Pyramid and Bruce Dickinson is already quite sore on the fact they've not been offered, the rampant Tory fencing champion that he is - but arguably anyone else currently in the game could play. Not British, per se, and they are almost certainly going to be too expensive as a European festival headliner in their own right... But Ghost would be excellent counter-programming somewhere on the Other Stage, preferably when dark.
Rose-Colored Boy
Sabbath never playing is an absolute travesty.
NorthernSoul52
Sabbath fronted by Dio, yes. Sabbath fronted by Ozzy would have been... more of a test for some.
archiegow
As someone who’s only recently got into metal via my girlfriend, I’ve found that there would be so many great metal or heavy acts to play the festival e.g. newer acts like Knocked Loose, Poppy, Sleep Token etc., get BMTH back as Other Stage headliner or even get a more established name like Korn, Slipknot or (massive hopediction) SOAD!
NorthernSoul52
System of a Down would be an excellent Other headliner, but for one reason or another - and with them, there are quite a few - I think it highly unlikely they'd come across. BMTH in a strange place. Chatter from a lot of folk in the R+L thread hoping they top the bill outright at R+L and once you do that, you tend to enter the conversation as a potential Pyramid headliner. They'd be a very strong Pyramid sub and a decent Other headliner right now. If they can somehow blow up a little more, then maybe they could be a shout for the big one - but they'd need to build profile and momentum heading across the fallow and beyond.
Rose-Colored Boy
Yeah BMTH topping the bill would need to be in a year when the other two Pyramid headliners are incredibly mainstream and accessible. So 2025 would be perfect for it, actually.
Andy0808 v5
Saw them last week on their Brain thrust anniversary tour and they sounded extremely good. Good nostalgic other stage fodder for the early afternoon.

Gejonimo
Has there been any talk of Frank Carter & The Sex Pistols showing up? They seem pretty perfect for a "heavier" Glastonbury act.

Definitely could see it happen in some capacity.
