Has someone here done the VIP experience (one of these 'gardens')? Is it worth the +190.-??...

I've been in the VIP bit as part of the media/press. I know a lot of people who upgrade for it. Personally, I wouldn't. It's not my vibe and the people I know who do end up spending the entire time in the upgrade bit. The toilets are ok and flush, there's a bar, there's a few extra stalls and freebies.  TBH, I don't think I would personally pay for ANY VIP upgrade at a festival now. But that is just a personal preference.

Thank you! The Toilet and Bar -Situation without VIP is not that bad, isn't it? Do they serve Wine, Cider & Pimms at the festival ground (not only in the VIP garden)?

Nah, they are pretty good. I haven't had to queue in years (and that's getting on-site first thing and leaving right at the end). I don't drink but my husband is usually fairly swift at the bar. There's Cider (There was a little Thatchers Garden this year) Pimms I have seen dotted about, there used to be a Pimms bus etc. And worst case you can nip out the festival to Palmerston Road for a cheaper cocktail or even a tinny from the Sainsburys!

I tend to use the kids toilets, but then I am a very seasoned festival goer and my standards of toilet are probably a lot less than others. Haha!

My in-laws did a few years ago (accidentally, they saw that premium was only slightly more expensive than normal tickets and didn't realise it was a bolt-on until after they'd bought them). They said it's not worth it, the food was better outside the VIP bit, they still struggled to get seats and see the stage.

There's three easy headliners. And Hozier does have a successful arena tour under his belt, which has been enough in a LOT of years.

Only problem with Hozier is how out of place he's likely to be.

I know Hozier has had a number one single this year, which is likely going to give a career boost, but I feel like putting him on after Chappell Roan is a recipe for the crowd to melt away.

Am I right in calculating that there is only 1 Common/Castle stage act (total) left to announce for the Friday? I count 16 out of 17 already announced.

Anyone smart enough, knowing historical stage timings and what sequencing the booker likes, to put together a timetable for the Friday?

Pretty sure Charli XCX doing Parklife and Lido and potentially also being at Glastonbury didn't help.

The fact they missed on Charli is still remarkable though. Have to assume the other two gave her the complete creative control for her show - there's a case that, if at R+L, they would have slotted her in as a co-headliner on the sub side of the equation.

Effectively there, it is Travis Scott, Hozier and Bring Me the Horizon with a glorified special guest stint for Chappell Roan. Not exactly a vintage on paper.

Spent the whole weekend in (very expensive) accom back in 2022 and 2023 but for me fully justifiable as fantastic line ups on all three days both years... we had an absolute blast... last year was very poor for us so we decided to save the grand it would normally set us back ... this year is a bit of a middle of the road for me (oh it still s***s all over R&L's line up)... stand outs for me are Michael Kiwanuka and the Reytons... which would mean a Fri and Sunday visit... will deffo be visiting (Friday) just need to see if worth the stay for the other two days...

Anyone know whether you can book just 1 or 2 nights at the Halls of Residence accommodation or do you have to book the whole weekend?

Think a minimum of three Fri Sat Sun - a fourth can be added either Thurs or Mon. That’s what it was last year anyway.

Anyone else notice that Madness are described on Victorious socials as playing on Friday “night”. A hint perhaps they are headlining the Castle Stage?

I’d be amazed if they’re not headlining the castle.  Same with The Last Dinner Party and Gabrielle

I am hoping that Nelly Furtado plays before Vampire Weekend as she has a few songs I like but doubt I would ever pay to see her own show. Although, as @northernangel has pointed out surely Last Dinner Party would be rammed at the Castle and the obvious place for them to play is as common sub.

I also think Madness would be rammed against QOTSA but that seems very likely.

I have to admit I prefered it years ago when they used to name who the Castle headliners where going to be on the poster early doors. It cut out all the guessing and assumptions. A few years back when Mumford played, from the positions and font size, I would never had guessed Marr would be Castle headliner, I assume every one else bottled it.

Bizzarely that year Ben Howard was announced as the castle headliner on initial line up announcement but then it never happened (nor did anyone ever mention it again). It’s even on the victorious website still

https://www.victoriousfestival.co.uk/2023/02/major-line-up-news-just-landed/

The incredibly talented Ben Howard will headline the Castle Stage and close the festival on Sunday evening

Goes to show it changes even after announcement. I suspect it happened as Mumford were late headliners (someone else was lined up but fell through, I suspect Noel Gallagher) and Howard is very good friends with Mumford (and similar musical style) so they needed something different.

With the headliners being bigger than other years (to most people). Do we think they will all get slightly longer set times, than the usual 70 minutes. I know Biffy got 90 minutes this year, but most years it's been the classic 70. Obviously won't find out for 7 months at least.

They always get 90 mins

is this something that sells out ? might want to get a Friday ticket or two ... do they come up on twickets ?

Tickets are rare as its a very rare sell out generally across the board on tickets. It's just so far away from anyone north of London. 3 hrs south of me minimum and I'm over an hour south by car of Nottingham.
