All Points East 2025

To be fair, leading tip for most arena venues - though I can only vouch for Leeds - is just get the cheapest seated ticket possible.

Then, ensure you get in pretty early and head to the front desk, and ask if you can swap your seat. They nearly always have something in the first tier, providing there's no more than two of you - usually holds either reserved from those who have season ticket hospitality, label reservations or access spaces - and are generally amenable about passing them on.

Only shows this doesn't usually work for is those that were instant sell-outs. But I've got some cracking seats at others over the years there.

Nick has had to scale back his arena tour due to lack of sales. My nosebleed seat has been shifted forward because they're curtaining off the back rows. Absolutely no chance he would do BST.

Nicks not as big as people think he is on here. The idea people get of him headlining Glastonbury one day is mad.

Oh, definitely not. But a man can dream.

There is no many factors over acts selling tickets as well. The venues that their fans want to go to as well being one of them. He's probably got one of the most underattended sub Pyramid sets I've seen as well.

Nick Cave just strikes me purely in the ball park of marmite, you like or you just don't. There is no middle ground. He is definitely bigger outside of England. I think out of the headliners mentioned for next year, Stevie Wonder is possibly the only option where a crowd I feel might turn up for him before the headliner.

Where's that at? Was under the impression the two shows at The O2 had sold well - the first was certainly billed as sold out.

They added a second O2 date due to “phenomenal demand” but the first date hasn’t actually sold out. The second date has the upper tier closed and a huge number of lower tier seats available to choose. There is also standing available. I’m holding back hoping the second date gets sold on TFG or Blue Light.

That's a pity.

I had some info last week about The Maccabees doing APE 2025. Wasn’t sure about it personally but I’ve just noticed they’ve updated their logo on their Facebook page. It could well be on.

Surely not as a headliner

- wow just looked, they ended with 3 ally pally dates in 2017. Guess its on

I’d say they’ve worse headliners in recent years. But yeah, accompanied with a new album I’d see that selling out.

Selling out is a definite push, but it will do fine.

APE don't really aim to sell it out anyway to be honest

Surely the aim is always to try and sell out right?

But you’re right they seldom do. Few more 00’s indie bands on that bill and it’ll do pretty well

Field Day is in Brockwell Park on May 24th next year - has this been discussed yet?

Field Day has been bought out by Superstruct, along with a few other small things that will be in Brockwell Park. Screen clip of their UK festivals, with a couple more below the line

I saw them once as an opener for The Black Keys and thought they were alright (actually at least as good as a surprisingly pedestrian headliner) but I wouldn't have thought they'd be down for this.

Maybe I have a wrong expectation of APE's level for headliner booking and/or what reputation Maccabees have had in their absence.

They have booked days on the cheap that were clearly not designed to sell out before. Some of the days in the past have not even been at 50% capacity - they want people in and spending and seeing their sponsors, which is why they give out so many tickets
