That never stops APE booking them again i.e The National, Nick Cave, The Strokes, LCD Soundsystem, Chemical Brothers...

Except the hint for the act said 'First time headlining a big outdoor London park I believe. Deservedly getting their shot. '...

Doh, I need to read more carefully.

Looks like he is, 3 Brixton dates flew out to be fair. Imagine he will still need a solid supporting bill.

Hearing another APE date with a fluffy indie rock band topping the bill. First time headlining a big outdoor London park I believe. Deservedly getting their shot.

Hoping this is Doves. I’d be there!

Also are you sure it's APE and not this new Lido event? Barry seems more likely for the former instead of APE.

Both will be booked the same as eachother, the 'new acts' thing is all just advertising etc

urgh so it is wolf alice, hard pass for me then

Speak for yourself (and maybe many others, for all I know), but I think Wolf Alice are probably Britain's best 'young' band. Delighted to hear that they're potentially back next year, and they massively deserve a shot at the big shows

Another vote for Wolf Alice but with the caveat that they play the first weekend. One of those bands I really like but always seem to miss their tours for one  reason or another. Seen them once at Mad Cool and thought they were fab.

As usual I expect to miss them if they play and it clashes with Victorious.

I'm changing my guess. Fluffy indie rock band. I'm going to say Mogwai. New album out next year. Last album went to number 1 in the charts. I think they could headline a day.

Also Wolves aren't fluffy, they're hairy.

30,000 people at a Mogwai show feels like a potential all-timer nightmare blunt rotation

Your logic makes perfect sense. However are they big enough? I know APE book all sized headliners but Mogwai seem a single night in London with a few thousand capacity sort of artist. I would expect an APE headliner to be an arena sized act or at least a few nights at Brixton/Hammersmith Apollo size.

eah, the wording of it definitely makes it sound like this is a comeback show with more to follow, but there's no way I'd let her miss the comeback show. (I know there'll likely be a warm up or two in advance, but for all intents and purposes this is it).

One of her friends who is coming with us as an Amex so we're already in! First (mini) festival in the diary for next year, I'm buzzing for it already!

Nice one bud! I did the Ally Pally run at the end and I will be there for the new beginning!!!
