chickenfire
Just bought tickets to Kendal Calling for the first time and noticed there wasn't a 2025 thread so might as well start it! As it's the 20th anniversary I'm hoping for a decent line up but it's always looked good enough for me to gamble on going. Any early predictions? I'll guess Fontaines DC
MilkyJoe
20 years since a thousand people kicked off Kendal Calling in a tiny park in the middle of town. It’s come a long way from that weekend.😊 Probably Kasabian for one of the headliners. oh and Lancashire Hotpots will be there!😁
Jackw0803
I’m going Thursday : lottery winners or Jamie Webster Fri courteeners or catfish and the bottle men Saturday snow patrol or fountains Dc Sunday Biffy clyro / Florence and the machine
efcfanwirral
We got ourselves tickets too, we did Y Not this year as the lineup just about shaded it (Snow Patrol and Noel vs Noel only out of the headliners we liked, plus a few others), and it was fun but Kendal is better. Every faith they'll pull out a good lineup for the anniversary. I saw in the Kendal Facebook group that there was a mural on site this year around the fences that acted as a sort of Kendal timeline, and they had a picture of Courteeners next to the 2025 bit so that's a fair prediction! I also hope Snow Patrol, they were amazing at Y Not and wouldn't complain at seeing them again.

Snow Patrol sounds about right. I still feel Biffy at least will aim above this. I reckon Victorious being the biggest of that selection by a distance managed to get them as the big headliner. If you came out of that with Courteeners, Fontaines DC and Florence I'd question if it was a big anniversary myself but I couldn't deny the size of the acts. Florence is defo bigger than Biffy so if she can do it then so can Biffy. Can’t actually see where Biffy go now barring the mid tier festivals (and they’re my fav band). I was thinking the likes of Vampire Weekend (prob too big), Franz Ferdinand, Primal Scream, Faithless, The Prodigy (again, maybe too big) and TDCC. Judging by prev lineups (Courteeners, Libertines, Doves, Blossoms all headlined in recent years)

No it's good you recognise the size for them. Their best bet is to do like Lytham where headline bands have played and a Glastonbury sub slot as the likes of Liam have done that and Finsbury for example. DomDom1984
I'd say Franz aren't big enough. Big fest subs tend to be a good judge for this, and slightly bigger too. The Prodigy are probably a big level but getable shout for it.

I think Biffy could sell 5k venues up and down the country, but would fall flat on their face if they tried venues like co op live.
chickenfire
They’ve just announced the line up will be released early this year. My guess is it will line up with The Maccabees returning but that’s just speculation at this point. Biffy Clyro seem likely too.
