That Franz Ferdinand gig was great. Almost broke my neck trying to jump the VIP barrier after several jugs of Mahou

Impressive adoption of a hell-for-leather attitude huh.

I might've been up for it but was on the wrong side - think the VIP section Alex was unhappy with was on audience left/stage right, which was the opposite side to the one I was on.

I was only at that year's Mad Cool on the Friday but I gathered Josh Homme was similarly unhappy with it the day after during QOTSA's set too.

Calling Massive Attack is posh is amusing, given they came from the streets and have dedicated their career to being anti-institutional activists.

I'm not sure debating the origin, lore and track record of Massive Attack is a discussion topic best suited to chatting with an angry group of Scots on a train at 3am after they'd presumably waited for 2 hours for a Massive Attack gig that never started because Franz Ferdinand were being a few decibels too loud for their liking.

It's going to be some American act they're waiting on

Good to know we're getting somewhere with this festival after all. Even if, like others, I agree doing so less than a week before Christmas is a bit of an insane time to do it.

And as said, it would be surprising if Olivia Rodrigo isn't on the list.

Curveball, but The National maybe? They played everywhere last year(s), including Primavera, but not Mad Cool (or NOS Alive). Het they seemed like they teased that band a few months back on their IG page. Seems like the type of band who would be cool to do some one offs after their long tour.

There 2019 MC headline show was the most boring MC headliner if ever seen, and the worst The National show if ever been too. I don't think those two fit very well together.

We had rumors of NIN coming to Europe this summer, I could very well see them as MC exclusive

The National was excellent when I saw them in June. Amazing performance. But they tour too much imo...

This is my dream theory!! that Taylor Swift will do glasto and if she's coming over to Europe she will do mad cool as well, she was meant to play their before but that's an edition that was cancelled due to covid.

Mad cool are useless at embargo and keeping secrets so have kept the whole thing hush till the day of announcement. Eras tour finished, an announcnt time in line with the USA. My dream can continue for a few minutes longer haha. Till the reality of it being Neil Young (mad cool) or someone.

Or the the theory that they are rushing out a line up because they have venue permission and it's the same as all the other festivals around.

We will see.
