I've said elsewhere tbf that I think I genuinely would've had a decent time at this year's Glastonbury without even visiting the Pyramid at all, which is an achievement.
Certainly I'm aware there's concerns about what is or isn't around in '25, particularly given Reading's profound slice of meh. Even if who's around in August means fishing in a different stream, or whatever metaphor comes to mind.
Not sure we need another source but from a conversation today Fred appears definitely out, from someone who should know his plans due to involvements this year. Also went on to say 1975 were now in without any prompt.
It's not a friend of a friend jobby, it's a direct conversation. But can never take things to be 100%, certainly not Glasto anyway as things seem to so changeable. But it's another notch on the 1975 odds.
For what it's with I think they more than deserve the shot, fan or not can't think of many UK guitar bands with the appeal they have particularly with the younger generation, and anyone who saw the latest run know they have a show in the locker more than ready for the big triangle.
Even by their standards they have been on the quiet side. But even then, they're doing a new band contest for acts to play there next year so we assume something is happening there.
Maybe.
Well, if they're gonna be on the Iberian peninsula that weekend, it's worth wondering if they shall be.
I keep saying it, but with 100 odd stages and music on for about 19 hours in 24, it’s actually impossible for the line up to be bad or even average.
Hunt them out, there’s always more than enough quality acts on.
I think there's going to need to be work in January. FFP/PSR is still being talked of as a pain in the arse and in a sell-to-buy position, but the mismanagement of the summer window is biting us on the arse and is going to require amendment. Really I think we need a CB, CDM and RW as potential priority positions. Shame a PL-worthy one in each of those positions is now about £30-40m and will want substantial wages, but resting on the laurels isn't an option anymore.
I do ponder if we got things wrong with our investments in 2023, although equally, we could at least say we were hit by injuries and weren't a million miles away from the top 4 again. To be worse this season with no European football is going to have to be questioned.
