When I went to see Darius Rucker there, it was uncomfortably overly full. Someone did actually tweet Darius just before the show started and was called out by him from the stage for moaning about a sold out gig, which wasn’t great from Darius.

I think its about creating the atmosphere earlier on. From what I saw at Malta, the Oasis crowd both young and old don't like Blossoms, who were the main rumour, they just chatted through the entire set. It was like being in a bar, and I doubt it'd be different for other newer acts. At least we know there are a couple of hits literally everybody knows with Ashcroft. But my guess is the likes of Kasabian, Courteeners and Blossoms will miss out on money from playing festivals if they joined the whole tour, as it crosses over with so many over July and August. Especially given they can all headline at some of them to different extents so would struggle with the proximity clauses in the contracts. I'd still expect someone like The K's, Royston Club etc to actually open the day, perhaps a rotation of that type, as there's enough time for 3 supports. -
A bloody hot day in 2023 I had no top on and we were sitting on a bench in T&C eating, when the notorious seagulls went for me... not my food but my nipple... mates found it hilarious, me not so much 🙂

QOTSA have never headlined these festivals we talk about and Foals played Glastonbury Park as secret set in 2019, they didn't headline Other or sub Glastonbury the same year as those festivals....neither of them. Biffy Clyro have wider appeal to more people I'm willing to bet that both of those two. A broader selection of people will know Biffy Clyro songs. If we go by recent history involving those festivals then they aren't out of the Other sub category but I believe they'll be in the Royal Blood zone. It wasn't meant but Fender was also who was chosen from being a Victorious headliner the previous year to sub Glastonbury as the bump up and i think it was probably thought the festivals that did get Fender that will did pretty well.
