My ticket day prediction is that immediately after the sales - people who did not get tickets saying the following

- The capacity should be expanded

- A Ballot would be fairer

- The line up is probably gonna be sh*t

- Its not as good as it used to be

- Blaming others for not getting tickets  scousers, Bucket list brigade, People with IT skills, Bots, SZA, Dave Grohls affair.

and the weirdest one of all -   Im actually glad I did not get tickets if (insert artist) is playing........

Probably more aplicable to Facebook & Twatter than here though 😉

You forgot "who wants to go to a festival full of posh tw^ts and yuppies* called guinevere and tarquin wearing their hunter wellies. It always rains anyway"

*insert whatever yuppies are called these days.

Excellent summary, and no mention of Chris Martin. He’s so passé now Grohl has stolen his crown😉😊

Really, really hope it switches back to October given I'm out the country for most of November.

Don’t forget the obligatory “Thanks a lot, Glastonbury! I was online at 9.25am and tried for 3 whole minutes, but only ever saw a busy page. You have crushed our dreams. Son/Daughter is in tears”

Thanks!!! we had promised her she would see Taylor Swift on the Pyramid next year.    Surprised the festival can keep going treating its loyal customers like this!!!!!!

November 10 is remembrance Sunday. Might be a factor.

Agreed, has to be a factor surely? Even a smooth sale would impact on some people's plans to get to services - a protracted sale caused by a hiccup would make that worse. Cue more crying on social media.

The issue with that one is it worked for that influencer when Vodafone (?) gave her tickets…

First Thursday in the month is coach sale followed on Sunday by main sale.

So Will be 10th Nov if in November or 6th Oct if in October,.

It was the third Thursday and the third Sunday of the month last year - 16th Nov (coach) and 19th Nov (main sale).

So if it's based around the coach sale being on the third Sunday, it'll be 21st Nov (coach) and 24th Nov (main sale) this year.

However... if it's based around the main sale being on the third Sunday of the month, with the coach sale on the preceding Thursday, then it'll be 14th (coach) and 17th (main sale).  That's because the 24th is actually the fourth Sunday of the month.

Both options avoid Remembrance Sunday issues.

Or it could be based on something else entirely and all this is pointless guessing.

If they repeat that logic it will be 21st Nov (coach) and 24th Nov (main sale) this year.

it got delayed though didnt it because of the issues with reregistering ? cant remember how much of a delay it was though

That was only because they pushed it back 2 weeks, due to people not being properly registered.

Basically - we have no reliable precedent here. Every single possible date out there has some form of "maybe it won't be that because of X" or "but that doesn't match what happened in Y" that we can point to.

They Tweeted on 06/11/23 that "Registration for the 2024 sale on the 16th & 19th has re-opened and will close again on the 13th Nov".  Maybe the sale date wasn't actually delayed?  Can't actually remember...

EDIT:  Original sale date was supposed to be 5th Nov 2023.

So if it's based on 1st Sun of the month it'll be 31st Oct (coach) and 3rd Nov (main)

And if it's based on 1st Thurs of the month it'll be 7th Nov (coach) and 10th Nov (main).

Or it could be none of the above.

So basically:

- Oct 3rd + 6th - Would match the precedent / pattern for the 2014 to 2022 festivals, but not the more recent ones (and we're probably close to the latest they could announce a sale on those dates).

- Oct 10th + 13th / Oct 17th + 20th / Oct 24th + 27th - No precedent

- Oct 31st + Nov 3rd - Arguably matches the 2023 and original 2024 main sale date, but only if you focus on the main sale and ignore the coaches. Coach sale also clashes with Halloween.

- Nov 7th + 10th - Arguably has the most recent precedent, but clashes with remembrance Sunday?

- Nov 14th + 17th / Nov 21st + 24th - Both arguably match the eventual date last year, but that was a clusterf**k so may not mean anything.

That's cos they had some problem to do with re registering so delayed it by 2 weeks right at the end. It was orogonally set to be the dates I suggested it would be again.

My shift requests for the rest of November closed today so it's in the hands of fate now. Was at work for resale last time and had a sympathetic junior on who didn't mind me trying, but can never guarantee that or if workload will allow it in my line of work. Do wish they would publish ticket the date sooner. Before I always knew to request the first Sun in October off but it's in disarray now.
