That price hike from 2022 to 2023 was madness!

It's more that 2022 was kept low, I think because it was seen as a replacement for 2020 - and obviously those with 2020 ticket deposits had placed them at a certain price so there was a balance to found there between needing to increase the price a bit (because of soaring costs) and being fair to those who had deposits at a specific price.

2023 was then back to full market value.

I'm expecting £395 next year to just get it over with and the festival hopefully able to hold it there for a few more years.

I reckon 375 as others have said. Problem the festival faces is the fees now demanded by certain artists  as seen by the cost of gigs now.  375 is pretty decent value for a  five day festival. It’s a balancing act between the cost of running the festival and keeping it affordable for the attendees.

Is it actually artist fees causing the issue though?

It seems to be infrastructure costs that are fuelling the increases was my perception. Although that being said a lot of the superstruct fests have kept costs pretty stationary.

its really about keeping the lights on and not paying talent since thats only changed with headliners right?

if you still want your dragonfly and such youll have to fork over the money.

if these artists actually got paid their fees it would be £500 a ticket and capacity would be another 20k and less randomness.

The point about fewer people drinking, especially young people, as that article notes, is an interesting one. I do sometimes feel like, even with buying tickets and going to small local gigs, I'm not really "supporting" them as I'm not buying a drink.

This is definitely going to be a huge reckoning for these sort of venues and events going forward. As someone once put it, the vast majority of performers, be it bands, comedians, theatre troupes are basically just sales people for alcohol.

I think 365. A bit of a bump, but not a £20 bump, which makes it seem like a bargain. They'll do this ext one on a shoestring (as far as possible) and then see what the landscape is like in 2027.

I just hope CV ticket prices are frozen after the massive increase last year!

how much were they last year?  2023 I think they were £200?

surely there's a ceiling on that.

It was £150 in 2023 then jumped to £200 for 2024

Ah that makes sense… can’t see that going to much more than £200.

It used to be free in our crew camp but even that was £35 this year!

£375 is ~5% over this year, then 5% next year takes it to £395. Feel like they’ll try keep it under £400 for as long as they can.

Some gig tickets are bonkers at the moment, Chase and Status tickets go on sale this week, starting at £60 or something.
