foolee
Yungblud is great live and would win over a lot of the crowd on the Pyramid. Nice guy too. Heard that the new album is meant to be massive.
foolee
Yungblud, Charli XCX, Chase & Status, Jack White, Chappell Roan or Sabrina Carpenter & Nick Cave as your subs/other stage headliners. Good mix and balance there.

Jack White is the one I'm most confident about there.
TheBoz
Would have thought of Yungblud as more of an R&L act these days

I don’t think he’d suit R&L crowd these days tbh.

I’d take that but I’d be shocked if we didn’t see Chappell or Sabrina or are you thinking they’ll be 3rd down?

I wasn't thinking about them at all to be honest. I think if you go by what people would see as a stronger year in 23 even, Sabrina might struggle to be booked 3rd down. Capaldi did it but his tour was bigger. I don't think Chappel Roan is demanding a sub yet, can easily do 3rd down.

Thought Charli too but she's only got bigger in the interim so sub on the big one sounds about right. Pulp I have given up trying to predict anything. Could Fontaines be back? Only played two songs from the new record this year so would have enough to differentiate. Probably too early for Fontaines to be back again. That would make 3 of the last 4 festivals if they did (they opened with Romance, so played 3 off the new album this year!). If I get a ticket, I wouldn’t complain but probably more likely to come back after the fallow year with 2 albums worth of material to add to the repertoire. Yeah, but I like em, so stop saying it's not gonna happen. Actually, they can headline in 2027. That'll do.
1986
Mentioned elsewhere but Bon Iver are overdue, well coming back at all, but headlining Other would be lovely.

Don’t see it myself but who knows. They played Wembley last time they toured I think and have headlined APE. Which puts them the same or higher than The National, who I know didn’t get the biggest crowd but do command those types of slots. Saying that Justin V has shown up to guest with Kanye and James Blake over the years so he must like the vibe of the place at least a bit. DomDom1984
I tend to think Stereophonics would be a good shout for a sub. Also think Chase and Status headlining Other sounds better than a sub slot.

mufcok
Fontaines have been offered a Pyramid sub slot. Undecided whether they'll take it (dunno which night, or who before). Whilst I'm buzzing about the prospect, I'm quite surprised that they could do consecutive years. I guess Emily likes Romance as much as I do. I think they should. Very cool slot and the fallow year in 2026. Can probably find out whether they're doing it or not, won't be a for a few months though. CaledonianGonzo
Didn't they also play 2019 and 2022? Makes sense from the festival's perspective I guess.

Given a stage headlining slot this year and then given another prominent spot the following year. Are they really struggling for pyramid subs this much? Also as discussed above not to mention they played 2019/2022/2024 so they'll have been at 4 of the last 5 festivals.

Whilst it's unusual for acts to get the call in consecutive years, some do. I'm bias, as I'm a big fan, but I think Romance has propelled them to the next level - hence Finsbury Park. Sometimes it's good to just cash in when an act is so hot.

Can't think of any time an act has come from stage headliner to a slot the following year. Not including someone like FBS. Not the bands fault of course and I wouldn't bemoan them taking it but it just looks weak from the festival, can they not find any other pyramid subs to a point where they're asking stage headliners for the year just gone? NorthernSoul52
Fontaines coming back so soon would be poor form, even if they are riding high.
CaledonianGonzo
Playing 4 out of the last 5 festivals isn't exactly inspired. Depends on whether or not they're there alongside fresher bookings like Chappell Roan and Rosalia - or whether it's all just the Foals, Biffy, Elbow, George Ezra and Two Door Cinema Club usual suspects again.
NorthernSoul52
I mean, there was a point where Biffy were there every other years, but only been once in the last decade. They'll have dropped three other albums by the time they get back if they do.

I hope they do it, as the clash with Idles this year was cruel. Also clashed with Turnstile in '22. The only time I've seen them was 2019 at JP tent.
