NorthernSoul52
I know, I know - The Piece Hall's season of music isn't really a festival, so to speak. But quite a few of its shows tend to figure as warm-ups for slots at other multi-day jamborees or factor as part of a festival run, so going to bite the bullet and start a thread on it. First announcement apparently hits at 10 a.m. tomorrow. They had some very strong names last year, including Gunnersbury Park headliners PJ Harvey and Korn, and Victorious Festival headliner Biffy Clyro. dotdash79
It's a great venue but it's a shame how this is run, compared to the original shows a few years ago.
NorthernSoul52
Can't say I attended many before this year. You mean as in there are far more than there used to be, or...?

sheffinghell
These two are also on at Lytham and Lincoln Castle. Looks like a block booking, so probably at least a couple of other Cuffe & Taylor / TK Maxx events too.
NorthernSoul52
Always is the case. Fax might get five or six "exclusives", but the rest will be full regulars.

NorthernSoul52
Lemar. Now that's a name I haven't heard in a long time, a long time.
sheffinghell
Let's just say, I didn't even bother with Mr Murs when he did free Tramlines in his heyday... there's definitely a market for it though
sheffinghell
Have to keep reminding myself they put on 30 odd gigs last year, and a handful were pretty solid
NorthernSoul52
They got a lot of sell-outs last year. Halifax splits the sweet spot in that there are trains after 11pm to both Leeds and Manchester that take less than forty-five minutes. Effectively ensures there's a journey home to two major population centres.
NorthernSoul52
Some didn't shift great - Grace Jones had a price drop, from memory, and still didn't sell out. But stuff like PJ Harvey, Korn and Biffy Clyro proved to be major coups in the context of the summer season.
