Must be part of their panic in having to re-write everything given people hated their initial plans and then Jonathan Majors' misbehaviour meant that plan had to go in the bin. Plus getting the rights back to X-Men means they've clearly decided they wanna do something with it, not least as adamantium is now apparently MCU canon from what I heard about the new Captain America movie.

Well I've certainly seen the comments, think pieces, memes and reactions declaring the W in Kendrick's favour on that score.
