Meanwhile, if you're looking for the nation's answer to Coldplay-esque, Imagine Dragons-style MOR pop rock anthems, it's probably Birds of Tokyo - a very solid live act, with a few cuts of hooky excellence amid the usual duffers.

Not really Glasto fare, but holy sh*t that recent Parkway Drive tour looked insane. Wouldn't call myself a fan but definitely on my list of bands to see live now

God yeah. It'd be fascinating to see where they'd put em - they're not too far away from Turnstile (who were absolutely bloody great) or the bounciness of Amyl, so Woodsies seems to be about the right size perhaps - or the Truth stage (is it called Peace these days? i forget - but they do put on some splendidly heavy stuff) but thats a bit of a pain with the through traffic at the back causing crowd issues.

Ally Pally is such a bastard to get away from - i cant get back to my last train so its a writeoff as a venue for me unless i'm staying in london. Shame, cos Amyl are great live

A great venue only for people in London.

 

AO Arena Manchester may be a shed, but it remains terrific for anyone on the train from Liverpool to Leeds.
