And what an occasion it should hopefully be.

 

I've got high hopes for it to be a special one in Italy to wrap up the tour. Know there were some who think there'll be extras afterwards, but pretty certain San Siro is where the buck stops on this one.

Back over three hours for the first time in a few shows last night, with Spirit in the Night to open, Land of Hope and Dreams to lead off the encores and Detroit Medley as a bonus encore!

Disappointed Ghosts seems to have departed this mortal coil; my favourite off LTY and lyrically was in keeping with the tour vibe

Yeah, concur there. Of the regular rotation songs from Letter to You, it was a standout fave.

 

Would have loved more time for If I Were the Priest or Burnin' Train too.

Him sitting on Priest for all these years is a head scratcher, sounds very much of its era. Love it

Yeah, I can't wrap my head around it either. When it started popping up a little again in Europe this year, I was excited, but managed to miss it completely in the end.

 

With setlists mostly retaining static shape, think I'm at the point where I'm maybe only going to hear one live debut per show next year, if I'm lucky. I had just the three at Wembley #1 this year - but Priest is one I'd love to get next year if possible.

Just realised She's the One went missing last night. Will be interested to see if there are further deviations to the shape of that last act in the main show. Kind of resigned to the encore sticking to a particular pattern by now.

In what could be a hopeful sign for closing time in Milan next year and perhaps just more shakedowns in the setlist, but Vancouver and the tour closer delivered a stonker:

 

+ Spirit in the Night as an opener for the second night on the trot.

+ The return of Ghosts for the first time since Toronto #1.

+ Tour debuts for Ramrod, Human Touch and Brilliant Disguise.

+ The seventh tour appearance of both I'm on Fire and Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town.

+ A third tour outing for Meeting Across the River into Jungleland.
