Chappell Roan - chance of glasto 2025 performance?

She subbed Tyler The Creator just 4 days ago, nothing weird about it at all if she was before Fred or Sam. I mean one way to guarantee a ramming of epic proportions is to have her sub Olivia and nobody is leaving. Or at the very least just the small batch of people who leave to see like Elbow headmine Other and everyone else stays.

 

so the big question is. Is Chappell headlining R&L? I mean easy answer is probably. And they certainly paid her to get that to happen. It also does give her a lot of time to be ready for that. She has already sayd she is taking 6 months to write and everything. So I dont forsee any show announcements in a while other than the obvious uk stuff. She deserves the break

I actually just said on the R&L forum that her being an exclusive there would be a good thing all round, they get someone who will sell out especially if it’s the only place you can see her plus it gives her the time to have a break from all of the sh*t

Might just be a timing thing - her two jaunts to the UK weren't anywhere near June time.

 

Dunno how far they went trying to make it happen- if at all.

I guessed this recently because I don't think Glastonbury will give her the spot she wants yet after the SZA thing. I suspect she is the second down option there. Glastonbury are right to not be just giving a sub yet, she has Manchester Academy 1, Glasgow 02 and 3 Brixton dates to her name which may acts do. She's exactly right for Reading to take the gamble. I wouldn't say she's a great booking but I'm sure she'll be decent.

Yeah no worries. I'll only ever share something when I'm very confident it's right - case in point, I had something on a headliner the other day. Whilst it came from the same source, there was also a bit of reason to doubt it, so I won't be sharing it unless it comes back again with more substance.

Superficially it does look that way.

 

But if you factor in timing for this year and the fact that she's not quite there yet as a Glastonbury headliner for next year it's more like the stars haven't quite aligned for it.

 

But it's an easy early shout for a 2027 Headliner if she maintains the same sort of level.

Concur. I don't think it is a fumble. A lot depends what she and her team want - and what there is on the market, price-wise.

 

The miss is possibly not getting her there this year, so as to lock her onto the festival vibe and power, like Rodrigo was hooked. There's a good chance that if - if - she maintains size and grows further, then by 2027, she might not be interested at the price offered.

 

There will always be acts with headliner pull who will play for peanuts, or below the going rate here.

I have no recollection of this, but I was also a nomad during the festival itself. Was pretty much just text message, carrier pigeon and smoke signals made out of a burning fleece.

It's female headliners they want though? They already have an equal split elsewhere. She wouldn't be headlining Glasto in 2025, maybe down the line. Reading with 6 headliners is basically 3 subs and they will also pay more money.

Any chance Glasto somehow manage to get Chappell? I know it’s not the same but they’ve managed to get Latitude exclusives before, so if they really wanted to get her, they could.
