I guess Deftones are headliners of one of the days. Any idea about other headliners like the pop girls, or Twigs or Central Cee?

Nowadays, I can't see Deftones as main headliners in a big Portuguese festival

Then who will be the headliners? They cannot get all the 3 pop girls cause it’s too expensive for Porto to bring all the 3, LCD apparently are not coming either, Twigs doesn’t feel like a headliner, and Central Cee is a very weird headliner for Primavera. If it’s not Deftones, then who?

central cee came in 2023 so its very weird for him to come again knowing that he isnt that much of a primavera artist. fka headlining is really a downgrade from last year headliners, i love her and her music but she isn’t headlining material at all especially in porto.

It’s actually very crazy for me that last edition we had lana rel rey and sza has headliners and this year there isn’t anyone at their levels in my opinion

Yeah, Rosalia, Blur and Kendrick were also too expensive. Lana Del Rey, SZA and Pulp + The National... I heard exactly the same.

I'm not saying that the three will play Porto, but they have to sell 40k tickets and the competition in Portugal is fierce. The choices for headliners are very very important.

We are talking like Sabrina, Chappell and Charli cost more than Lana + SZA + Pulp + The National. If they didn't book the three I think the reason is not money:

1. Different strategy with a more solid undercard;

2. Their teams didn't want to.

yeah i really dont think the problem here is money; like ofc charli and chappel are having a big year but lets be real, charli didnt had a massive streaming success with brat, despite being one of the most successful albums this year, ofc i can’t take that, but did it made that much noise outside the gen z/ pop culture fans in Portugal? i dont think so.

and i dont think chappel has enough fans or is that well known in Portugal/Europe to be that expensive, or even headlining material comparing to last year Lana/Sza/The National.

The only one i see being the most expensive is probably Sabrina since shes a radio darling in Portugal and has 3 of the biggest hits this year. On the other hand being connected to taylor always brings her more visibility and makes her very well known here.

l still feel skeptical about them having the 3 biggest pop starts of the moment and then also have Deftones and nice undercard. It’s a bit of a push both in money and capabilities for a festival like Primavera Porto. If they end up having the 3 pop girls plus Deftones plus Clairo, Twigs, Fontaines and so on, then what is the point of going to Barcelona for such a high price (350€ right now) when you can see the biggest names in Porto and most of the nice undercard? Idk. But then again, would not surprise me if they did it, it’s true that last year they had Lana and SZA and those are huge artists.

Deftones are not that expensive. Vilar de Mouros could book them and it's a much smaller festival. They were on the line-up for North Music Festival 2020, also a very small festival.

Their demand has risen since 2020, probably due to tiktok letting them gain a wave of new fans.

Was Headliner at SBSR 2017

Yeah, ask UNICER what they think about the last ten years of SBSR. Plus, SBSR at Parque das Nações = 20k tickets and it didn't sell out.

Interesting, but they didn't make the headliners choice at Primavera Barcelona last year, unlike Porto's headliners.
