Has anyone had experience of 1 from their group not being to make the coach and taking their ticket and just meeting them there??

Bus drivers I don’t think have any way of seeing what the groups are so won’t just hand the ticket over to someone else … have done bus twice and both times they were fairly strict on checking the I’d matched . People have said that they give out the tickets at box office later but I’d not be taking that risk . If someone knows they can’t make the bus at this stage they should be trying for general sale only

Yeah, definitely wouldn't expect the driver to hand over the missing ticket - drivers vary so there might be one or two out there that are prepared to do it, but generally speaking if the person isn't there, they'll not hand out the ticket.

They instead should hand it in to the box office at Gate A, as part of their paperwork / debrief - but there's a definite risk in relying on that happening and it being made available for collection. Too many links in that chain where something could go askew for my taste. As the terms and conditions (repeatedly) say that the ticket is only valid if travelling on the service, they'd be under no obligation to go out of their way to help.

Hi! This was the only Coach thread I could find...

I know it's very early to be thinking about this (not by efest's standards it isn't, though!), but next year will be my very first coach trip to GF, having been 7 times before by other means of travel.

I tend to pack rather heavy. Not ridiculous, but I don't mess about...booze, clothing, equipment etc. I know I'm going to have to massively limit that next year. I have mates who can take my tent and/or perhaps some booze, but I'm keen to hear from those who've done the coach and any tips you have.

Am I right in saying everyone puts their "main" backpack in the coach storage, and you can carry a small amount onto the coach with you? Is it wise to strap camping chair to the backpack and as much other stuff you can, within reason?

Also heard about the no drinking on the coach, how strict is that (it is illegal for me to travel on a train or coach without celebratory beverages... responsibly of course, so I shall be frequenting).

Any other coach-related tips for the whole process would be massively appreciated. I'm excited about it tbh!

Thanks in advance x

ok so id probably avoid taking a chair if you can or get mate to take it unless you have a really small one . id probably convert from beer / cider to spirits and make sure that is well sealed . I had a tent and large backpack that went in the hold of the coach . you can take a day bag sized bag onto the coach. Drinking the 2 times ive been the driver has requested strictly that we dont but I do know of other journeys where it's been entirely different . Id be prepared for either tbh and if the driver says dont then be aware you might be putting their job at risk if you do . I take a very small sleeping bag and carrymat for first night and then bigger versions for when I can access the carpark and I swap them over .
