CVC - Welsh 70s inspired stoner radio rock. Suggested Track - Good Morning Vietnam

Concert of the year shared no#1 with Fontaines. What a great band!

Want to add Gut Health, post punk from Australia. Debut album in 2024.

And some Dutch acts worth checking: Iguana Death Cult (noise garage), Tramhaus (postpunk rock), Personal Trainer (pop rock), De Staat (best Dutch rock band and live performance for years), State Power (brand new hardcore punk)

Love both of their albums they have some absolute belting tracks im surprised they have not picked up some new fans - given the association with Wet let - all be it relations between the two are not great these days.

They played the John Peel stage in 2010 and I still can't believe they haven't been booked again after the release of 'O'. They've steadily built a really solid catalogue and they've become a great live show. I might be biased though.

I'm liking what I hear so far mate. What stage were they on? Thoughts on whether that will change next year?

Sorry was saying other year in general - not sure they have actually played Glastonbury -

Id guess if they did play and early slot on the Glade or Lonely Hearts Club would probably be for them. Sadly unless support rockets for them - I doubt they will get much bigger -  Like lots of smaller acts they put out quality material but they do not get much recognition for it.

This thread is just making me miss Williams Green - there's not much space for these sort of acts anymore other than maybe Left Field?

out of upvotes but 100%.  the mistake with Williams Green was booking the silly big acts there on the Thursday - It was a fantastic to escape from the bigger stages to catch a little act - The normal Fri - SUN program was epic

Lets Eat Grandma playing there in 2017 is up there with one of the best things ive ever seen at the festival

I suppose William's Green in the daytime wasn't really worth the cost of it. I know it got busy for the headliners and Thursday before the main stages opened, but I remember seeing The Phantom Band in there one afternoon with about 50 people. A great band but there was also 5 members I think and that must be pretty disheartening and not really economical.

Still a shame it went as it was good for smaller bands but there's still Greenpeace, Strummersville, Lonely Hearts Club, Hell(?) Stage, and early in Woodies and The Park where some can play. I saw Fat Dog at Lonely Hearts Club this year. Lynks and Lambrini Girls at Greenpeace as well as their 'main' sets.

I actually saw Lynks play the Glade......  different festival though lol (the stage popped up at Shambala this year)

But yeah probably a fair point-  I guess Stummerville in particular has really boomed in recent years without Williams Green so i guess its sacrificing one stage to make the others stronger
