Hospitality Tickets without the crazy markup and accommodation?

Hi all!

First Glastonbury since 2014 I haven't been able to grab tickets, which is especially gutting as this was going to be our last one for a good number of years (kids :sob:). Because of this we'd be quite willing to pay a bit more to guarantee going. I had some friends who used to get hospitality tickets a few years ago for ~£500. They had an in from an artist and they offer us some once but we were lucky enough to get them in the main sale but always thought it'd be reasonably easy to source them if I wasn't successful.

Unfortunately haven't spoken to that friend in years, but I thought you'd always need an in to get them, but after stewarding a couple of years ago, so many people came in with no links to artists, weird stuff like mortgage advisors etc. so there must be a way for companies to source them to hand out. Just wondering if anyone knew of a way to get them! Aware of the 'VIP' companies selling them for £5k, which is crazy, but we'd be more than happy to pay a reasonable but high price for them! Just need a damn way... I'm not too proud to approach companies

DMs always open!

I've paid for some hospitality tickets for 2025 and now I am already really anxious that I've been scammed... I don't think there's anyway for me to know until the festival rocks around. Annoyingly I was shopping around different companies and then I went for a slightly cheaper one, that in hindsight looks a bit less legit than the other companies I had been talking to. I've basically saved £1k by going with this company, but I have given myself a world of anxiety! They've told me that I just have to give my name and email address when I arrive and that I won't have a physical ticket, but that means I won't know if it's legit until I'm literally in the field. Their online footprint is a lot smaller than that of the other company I was talking to and they seen to also have two company trading names. I think I'm just going to have to keep in contact with them all year and if they disappear in June assume it's a scam and not go through the disappointment of showing up with my camping gear...

Can you look them up on the government website and see if they're an official registered company? If so, see if the phone numbers etc match.

How much did you pay? Not sure how hospitality works! Maybe someone who's used it before can shed some light on it

You could try contacting the festival and asking if that company has genuine tickets.

Tell me you paid by credit card?

I'm sorry to say that this doesn't look good. Get the name of the company and contact GFL immediately to find out where you stand with them. If it is a scam and you've paid by CC you may be able to cut your losses and claim back.

***A WARNING TO OTHER USERS HERE***

Hospitality tickets can be a dubious minefield and if it looks too good to be true then it probably is. There are scammers everywhere. Do your homework, check and double check and only part with your money if you are absolutely sure that it is legitimate.

The festival have a standard response that any tickets sold like this are illegitimate. Indeed, there's a news article on the front page of the website saying that.

There definitely are legitimate sellers of hospitality tickets, Glasto don't publicly acknowledge it but they definitely exist

It depends on your definition of legitimate.

Sure there are people who out there who'll deliver, but from the festivals perspective that doesn't mean they're legitimate. By the terms that the tickets are sold under - anyone charging above face value for the tickets automatically isn't considered legitimate as they're breaking the conditions of supply. Hence why all the off-site accommodation providers that have an allocation of tickets will charge face value for the tickets, and then some insane price for 5 nights in a broken down caravan.

I looked into hospitality options when I didn't get a ticket in 2017, when I checked 1 company with the fest I got the following reply:

Thanks for your message. Yes they are one of the Festival’s neighbouring farms and therefore do have a limited number of legitimate tickets they sell with accommodation. We aren’t involved with, nor are responsible for the services they provide, and by staying there you wouldn’t be covered by Festival insurance, so you may want to check your own cover (travel insurance/credit card insurance etc).

So if it is legit they'll let you know.

Yes - for accommodation providers.

For a concierge / tout type service, as appears to be the case here, the answer is always a flat "no, they're not".

As the festival say:

Quote

HOSPITALITY TICKETS

A limited number of hospitality tickets are available for the media and those working in the music industry and related media to purchase, on an application basis, directly from the Festival. The Festival is the only authorised seller for stand alone hospitality tickets. We do not permit any other vendor or agency to sell hospitality tickets on their own.

A handful of the Festival’s neighbours do also offer hospitality tickets strictly as part of the accommodation available on their property. These tickets are not permitted to be booked through third parties or agencies, or on a ticket only basis.  If you have any concerns about the validity of a neighbouring hospitality provider, please contact us.

So yeah, the answer in this case is a flat no. The only way you'll get any other answer is if it's one of the off-site accommodation providers packaging the ticket with several thousand pounds worth of accommodation.

Hey,

i worked on one of the hospitality gates last year, and to get in/out you need three things - a wristband, a ticket, and some photo ID. Your ticket may well not have your picture on, but it will have name and address. Its possible that you wont get sent a ticket and have to pick it up when you're there, but you definitely will need a physical ticket at some point for hospitality.

UNLESS its not hospitality and is a workers wristband, which wouldnt necessitate a ticket. I'd chase them for lots more information i think, it is were me. If they're legit, they'll know the process in and out. If they come back with any kind of 'not sure, but trust us, itll all be good' then i'd look at reversing/disputing the cc charge and cancelling it.

Best outcome: Please don't feed the touts.

Worst outcome: There's no ticket for you and they've got your money.

There's much more chance of the latter.
