(actually 97 and 98 were muddy and sh*t and in 98 we left on saturday morning). I blame the people I was with. I think some dullard suggested seeing Goldie on Other/NME in 95 instead of Pulp and there was just us and a few others. I was surprised how few I'd seen and looking through the list, how many I would have liked to have seen but didn't. I can't be bothered to work out what I was doing instead (no regrets) but hope that it was for worthwhile experiences (like dancing with hippies at the chip van) 🙂 I'm sure we've all made a few stinker choices though. I always come home with the feeling of regret at what I've not seen even though it's impossible to see even a fraction of it.

Pipine
In 18 festivals I don’t have many standout pyramid headliners.. I’m more often found at other stages at headliner time. 1. Dua Lipa 2024 - far and away my favourite set on the pyramid. From our front row catwalk spot it was an absolutely stunning pop set. 2. REM 2003 3. Blur 2009 4. Billie Eilish 2022 - impressive lighting.. great energy. I hope she comes back one day.
Sawman
Been to every one since 2000 - bar two - and 5 pyramid headliners have for me at least been exceptional - the cure, Radiohead, Metallica, stones and Bowie.
CharlotteB Posted yesterday at 08:04 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 08:04 AM 2009 was a beautiful year for Pyramid Headliners. Young, Springsteen, Blur. Put those 123 in any order for me.
minikiev Posted yesterday at 10:17 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 10:17 AM My Top 5: Neil Young 09 Bowie 00 R.E.M. 99 Radiohead 17 Stevie Wonder 10 13 headliners in 7 festivals. Only seen all 3 once (2009). Bit gutted if Neil plays again this year as we don't have tickets this time
Ell99 Posted yesterday at 10:46 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 10:46 AM (edited) Does anyone have the video to Macca's performance from 22? I'd dearly love to watch Hey Jude back again! Turns out I've seen 10/15 pyramid headliners: 1. Macca 2. Elton 3. Adele 4. Coldplay 16/24 5. Kendrick 6. Killers 7. Cure 8. AM 9. Billie Eilish Edited yesterday at 10:51 AM by Ell99
Nice hymer Posted yesterday at 11:39 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 11:39 AM Too many to clearly remember... 1. Foo fighters 2017 2. Rolling Stones 2013 3. David Bowie 2000 4. The Cure 1990 5. Adele 2016 Other close runners, Stevie Wonder 2010, Blur 2009, Bruce Springsteen 2009, Muse 2010 Mary J Blige 2015 and BB King 2011 remain two of my favourite sets ever, both afternoon sets.... itsfomas Posted yesterday at 12:38 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 12:38 PM I have only been to the festival once (I'm going back for a second time next year!). Billie Eilish was outstanding, and the lights were mind-blowing. It was an excellent first experience of the pyramid. Went to see Paul Mccartney for the legend factor but quickly realised it wasn't for me and headed for Jessie Ware!

I said what I said and will not be taking questions at this time. Same. Only the attempted singalong to the whale bit which nobody knew, and Snoop not coming out for Welcome to Plastic Beach at the start were poor. The rest was brilliant. michslo Posted yesterday at 01:58 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 01:58 PM Top 5: David Bowie (2000) Levellers (1994) Paul McCartney (2022) Radiohead (1997) [would be higher, but the mud made everything worse that year] The Cure (1995)
balti-pie Posted yesterday at 02:04 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 02:04 PM Oooh, this is tricky! I dont want to put em in order, but if i have to rank my pyramid headliners, then here goes: 1) Stevie Wonder, 2010 2) Elton John, 2023 3) The Cure, 2019 (never heard better sound than that ever, anywhere 4) White Stripes, 2005 I'd rank other headliners higher, cos i prefer smaller stages - Sigur Ros at the JP in 2014 (was it that year? i think) Dead Kennedys at the Truth stage in 2017 Gojira at the Truth stage 2019 - would all be above Stevie. the no.1 top performance i've ever seen at the festival was Ho99o9 in the Earache express in 2017, that was absolute bottled madness, wasnt really a headliner but was amazing. amazing. In a tube carriage ffs
giantkatestacks Posted yesterday at 03:04 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 03:04 PM So the game is which Pyramid headline acts we enjoyed the most? er ok. 1. Stones 2. Levellers 3. Gorillaz 4. Macca (second time) 5. Adele
Spindles Posted yesterday at 03:50 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 03:50 PM 1. REM 99 2. The Cure 19 3. Rolling Stones 13 4. Coldplay 16 5. Muse
homesick Posted yesterday at 05:23 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 05:23 PM Think I've seen 11 headliners across six festivals, would say all apart from the bottom three were superb on an objective level 1. The Cure 2019 2. The Killers 2019 3. Coldplay 2024 4. Paul McCartney 2022 5. Dua Lipa 2024 6. Elton John 2023 7. Foo Fighters 2017 8. Radiohead 2017 (would have been higher, my own fault for not being more in to them at the time) 9. Arctic Monkeys 2023 10. Gorillaz 2010 11. Ed Sheeran 2017 (only saw half of it after Kano on the Park - don't think the ranking would have changed if I'd seen more) I would say from the festivals I missed in that time (2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016), the two I really wish I'd been at are The Rolling Stones in 2013 and Arcade Fire in 2014. The rest are largely acts I can take or leave or have seen/will see headline Glastonbury again
CantWaitForGlasto22 Posted yesterday at 07:32 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 07:32 PM I’ve been to 6 festivals and have seen (I think!) 10 headliners on Pyramid. Some of the best headliners have been non-Pyramid but on the Pyramid: 1. Killers 2019 and 2007 (despite sound issues - 2007 was my first Glastonbury and my favourite band and was really what got me hooked on the festival and 2019 was also brilliant) 2. Elton John 2023 3. Blur 2009 4. Macca 2022 5. Coldplay 2024 6. Dua Lipa 2024 7. Billie Eilish 2022 Arctic Monkeys ‘23 and Bruce ‘09 don’t make the cut for me. Metal Monkey
RATM 1994. I know they didn’t headline but it was amazing. Levellers 1994 Metallica 2014 REM, can’t remember which one Radiohead 2003 The Cure 1995 David Bowie 2000
Acid_Haze
1. Kendrick 2022 2. Elton John 2023 3. Arcade Fire 2014 4. Stormzy 2019 5. Radiohead 2017 6. Billie Eilish 2022 7. The Cure 2019 8. SZA 2024 9. Kanye West 2015 I would put Macca in there somewhere from 2022 but I only caught the last half of his set so doesn't count
Meerkat
1 - Florence + The Machine, 2015 2 - Muse, 2016 3 - Kanye West, 2015 4 - Kasabian, 2014 5 - Coldplay, 2016 6 - Ed Sheeran, 2017

doogie
The pyramid headliners I've enjoyed most are: 1) Bowie (2000) 2) Blur (2009) 3) Rolling Stones (2013) 4) Paul McCartney (2004) 5) Elton John (2023) 6) U2 (2011) despite the rain 7) Paul McCartney (2022) 8) The Killers (2019) 9) Radiohead (2017) 10) Dua Lipa (2024) I definitely saw Oasis, Pulp and The Cure in 1995, but I don't remember enjoying any of them that much. Oasis hadn't yet released What's the Story, so a lot of that was lost on me. That said, I saw them again in 2004 and didn't enjoy them that much then either. I only knew Common People by Pulp, which itself was incredible, but I do remember being quite bored until they played it. I knew 6 or 7 hits by The Cure, but it took a lot of waiting around before they played them. I chose Kula Shaker over Radiohead in 1997, which I probably should regret, but I did really enjoy them!
