I think they'd be well suited to a headline set on the Park Stage, tbh, the precedence being Sparks a few years go.

For those who like Sparks and may not know of it existence;

Tears for Fears are a one-hour slot, likely third or fourth on the Pyramid. I could broker an argument for the Legends Slot, but not over several of their contemporaries, perhaps.

This sounds right. I feel like there’s been years where they had a GSH and it didn’t happen, maybe money is an issue. They would be a fantastic 4th or 5th down Pyramid booking and get a big crowd if that’s what they did. They’re more Sheryl Crow/Texas/Crowded House than Sparks.

Flashbacks to the SZA argument again huh

It's hard to judge, isn't it?

Do Glastonbury do straw polls on site to gauge what the crowds are going to be like? Probably better than their educated guesswork.

Nope but they do take notice of data inputs into the app and possibly clashfinder info too

Think about fourth down Pyramid would be right for an act like them, but Glastonbury seems to largely miss out on all of these new wave/synth pop acts from the 80s (Erasure, Human League, Duran Duran etc) and they always seem to take more prominent slots at other festivals like IOW instead. Maybe Glastonbury’s payday just isn’t worth it to them.

For acts that tour occasionally like t4f, there's always better money than Glastonbury offers available to them. And cos they only tour occasionally they'll be wanting the best money.

Tears for Fears - 30 million records sold globally

PSB - 100 million records sold globally

Not really a barometer as to who’s the biggest act. PSB have released 15 studio albums, 5 live albums, 9 compilations, and over 70 singles - far more than TFF.

When they tour, they both play arenas and selected outdoor events
