In all the visits to Glastonbury what has been your favourite Glastonbury moment ? or moments  ? obviously for me Coldplay last year tops things but I think seeing friend play John Peel in 2017 is up there . OR what could be a great moment in years to come if its not yet happened ?

Perhaps a bit of a generic answer rather than one particular thing that happened  but the moment I'd set up camp and cracked open the first drink on my second visit. We had all of the original team there plus several newbies and I was beyond excited to share the experience with the newbies (including my sister).

Just that feeling of ...

Gonna probably dip in and out of this thread with absolutely loads of answers has favourite spot is a very close 56 way tie.

one at the front of my mind for no particular reason right now.

after Lana Del Late, was over at the lonely heat clubs stage (which is quickly becoming a new fave) - Although I missed Ben Bohmer - got the tale end of Max Cooper, then Helena Hauff topped with Daniel Avery was an absolute solid run of acts hanging with the mates which reached a pinicle at the end the night when Avery was ending his set. Just as things were going quiet he held up a single finger to give the one more song?  indication - met with the obvious wahhhheyyy from the crowd, he leaned over and just presses one single button.  The immediate burst of QOTSA Feel Good Hit Of The Summer went down an absolute treat as a ironic 3AM stage close - great moment for all that were there, fantastic final hurah for the night before Siver Hayes fell silent

il dip in with another one or two at some point.

Loads of favourite moments. Here’s a few for starters: the night of the original Car Henge in 1987, Kae Tempest’s WH set in whatever year it was, Jay Z starting his set with Wonder wall (as a perfect response to Noel’s nonsense).

1994 - my first Glastonbury - walking down the hill from Big Ground to see Levellers on the friday.

i'd gotten to the festival late as i had an exam on the friday afternoon. i basically just had time to get through the gate, dump my bag at the tent, and then head off for Levellers.

i'd been to many gigs, and a fair few festivals before... but nothing like this.

i think its not an exaggeration to say that my life pretty much changed at that moment.

Many for me too, but one that immeadiatly comes to mind is from two years ago, a friend got me a guest wristband for Arcadia crew bar, and Phil from Orbital was down to DJ last one evening. I got there and he was just in the shipping container booth, spinning away, bare feet etc 🙂

I'm hopeless at speaking to people in real life, mad anxiety etc, but I watched for ages then just got the courage up to go to the booth and speak to him, I just said 'great tunes' or something like that but got to shake his hand 🙂 An awesome moment 🙂

In 2022 I had a very up and down festival with a toxic friend (no longer a friend.) We went to see Paul Mccartney for the legend factor and quickly realised it wasn't my vibe, my toxic friend went off to bed and I disappeared into the night. Ended up getting really drunk at Jessie Ware on the Park stage, danced really hard, had a wild night in the SEC... not sure if it was Jessie or feeling free in many ways but it was a 10/10 night.

Can't wait to do Glastonbury this year without said friend!

Music wise, favourite couple of moments are Blur 2009 when Damon Albarn broke down in tears, and just that whole gig was one of the best things I've ever seen. And 2016 watching James open the Other, was front row with my boy on my shoulders, he was 8 and we both loved James, and he got on the BBC coverage lol.

Another moment with my kid, was leaving late the Sunday afternoon 2014, was his second Glastonbury and as we were winding along country lanes to get away from the site I looked over and had a rush of memories from the weekend with him and got all choked up. Lovely stuff it was.

From my earlier times there, one thing that always sticks in my mind is the absolute mad trip me and my mate Al ended up on one night, we bought some chocolate laced with acid at the Stone Circle and munched it straight down, first signs of trouble were about 15 minutes later when all the clouds turned into Imperial Star Destroyers, which we both saw at the same time which flipped our lids and then it all kicked off in our brains. Made it back to camp somehow and Al spent 8 hours with his sleeping bag zipped up to his neck so he didn't have to keep watching all the flesh slough off his bones... It was more fun than it sounds tbh, one of the wildest nights I've ever lived through, hurt from head to toe from laughing so much.

There’s no 1 favourite moment because every moment is magical, but there are a few standouts.

Being front and centre for Paul McCartney was a dream come true. A Beatle, on the pyramid stage! 🤩

One of the funniest things I’ve ever seen was the rather worse for wear chap near West Holts a few years back fumbling to roll himself a spliff and then asking a passing stranger for a light before offering them a toke in thanks. Passing stranger was a copper 🙈 who politely declined but told the guy to enjoy and earned himself a round of applause form those of us sitting nearby. 😂

Dancing the night away at Club du Fromage in WG, dressed as Mrs Claus complete with 6 inch stiletto heels. 👠. Not recommended footwear on the farm 😂

And sharing 2023 with my brother, his first festival experience and just seeing the awe in his eyes made it truly magical. 🥰

Only been once in 2023, back this year, so experiences are limited compared with many of you!!

But, the very first time walking up to the Glastonbury sign and seeing the site. Amazing.

Lewis Capaldi - was special

Elton - obviously

arcadia for the 1st time

The Temple

wondering to grab a pint of brothers, just as Ezra Collective began their set, I’d never heard of them until then, what a performance and group!!!

But being at the front for the churnups, was special.

So many favourite moments.. but there was one night where me and a friend ate some special mushroom toasties while watching Stevie Wonder then wandered off for a tour of the site, spending a lot of time crying with laughter at amazing walkabouts in the T&C field and that brilliant jukebox that was actually a tiny caravan with a 4 piece band in it and probably a stop at the minuscule of sound.  I may have mixed some years up together but my favourite memories are wandering the site looking for silliness and mini dance opportunities before we bimble on.

Closely followed by watching Phoebe Bridgers do “I know the end” in 2022 and whacking a monstrously large bull piñata in campo pequeno (early incarnation of the temple) one year.. they used to do some hilarious stuff in there.

For me, I keep going back (time and time again) to the moment I saw the face of the cousin of a person I knew when he turned around a block of portaloos (yes, it was a long time ago) and saw the early evening hazy smoke and sunshine riddled camping site behind me. I knew him but not well, and hadn't arranged to meet him. He said 'hello' with a big smile on his face, looked behind me, and I could clearly see 'awe' strike his face. He looked at me and we both just 'knew'. It was his first time at Glastonbury. He'd seen what we all have seen. Dare I say it 'He'd seen Brigadoon'.

Unfortunately I can't recall my own first impression. I do know I loved the place from the moment I arrived until now, even as a non attendee any longer.

That Helena Hauff set was something else wasn't it.

It's a strange one, you try to think of your favourite Glastonbury moment and then your head gets flooded with random memories and all of a sudden it's a real struggle. So many good times, so many 'moments' that picking one seems impossible.

2010 was my return to the farm having spent a good few years away and walking round Block 9 (Shangri-La?) we entered somewhere to be greeted by Dog Faced Geishas. A true wtf moment but it brought home how bonkers Glastonbury can be and it has stuck in my memory ever since.

Also my first Glasto sunrise at the Stone Circle in the same year. Magical.

Too many to have a favourite.  So going to drip feed a few in as they come to mind.

My first one in 2009, went with my (to be) brother in law and his mates. Aside from the whole "first visit" vibe and just discovering the joy of wandering the site it was the huge set with Blur, getting to watch him properly let his hair down for probably the first time. Can still see him belting out Tracy Jacks, and the massive crowd singalong to Tender. Aside from falling in love with Glastonbury that was also the point when it switched from him being my girlfriend's brother to being a really good friend and family.

Happy days.

I second Jay-z in 2008. Also Groove Armada headlining west holts on the Sunday night that year. Was a perfect end to one of my fave years - after years of crap weather and the festival getting a bit stale, it was incredible to have a year that really injected some excitement (and good weather) back into it!

So so many over the years at my favourite place on earth but number 1 now would be getting the chance that I had to do an hour DJ set in the Arcadia crew bar has to be the best.

i was a dream come true for this 57 year old to play my old soul, funk, Motown, disco and Northern soul to about 100 people. Some of them even danced 😂

Hope to repeat it again this year.

Ah that's brilliant!  I'd love to see the video but sadly gold members still can't see posted videos.  I've raised this a few times in the past, but sadly it's still not fixed. @eFestivals @Crazyfool01
