I thought I better get The Hives latest, The Black and White Album as I'm seeing them in a couple of weeks time.

Unfortunately its as I feared, crap. This is coming from someone who still puts The Hives in their top 10 bands. But seriously, theres tracks on this new album that are completely the wrong direction for me ;) The Hives are supposed to make albums that contain songs of an average length of about 1min30sec, using four power chords shuffled differently. Barely Legal and Veni Vidi Vicious are such good albums!

I'm still hugely looking foward to seeing them at Rock City, but I hope they leave some of this new stuff well alone live.

"T.H.E.H.I.V.E.S.", the latest single, is a terrible song.

Feist - The Reminder. Fantastic album really like her stuff after seeing her on jools holland about a month ago now

Foals - Antidotes Some great tracks and great to awkward dance to, hummer is their best song though. reguardless it shouldnt have been left off album.

Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly - Hows and Whys. Nice album but too much strings is/will be better played live first album better but not a bad album by any means

Slipknot - Subliminal Verses, thought i better check them out properly for Reading, remember hearing one song from this album ages ago which was chilled out as title suggests and like a few songs on it will be great on main stage!

Vampire weekend - getting more and more into

MGMT - personally think the hype was too much even though i like them (foals hype is too much too, music should do the talking not NME trying to fill columns)

Kooks - Bonk, crap title, crap album. I loved the first one and the band way way back and was lucky enough to see them in 300 person venue 6 months before they played reading in radio one which was great but i cant remember how one song goes on the new one.

REM- Accelerate, sounds like a good growing even though it gives a good impression at first, but for me not as good as reviews say, but im sure it will.

Racounters- Personally I dont get it just yet, as in now wow factor no hook trapped in my head etc

Young Knives - Great follow up album few duds on but also great ones will be great to see them on mainstage!

Youthmovies, if u like foals + melody check them out now

Agus and Julia Stone (think thats it) good acoustic album

also saw Efterklang tonight, they are incredible live.

quote from urban dictionary,,,

"North Eastern English slang for something good or nice. There is no bigger compliment than being called canny."

and also

"North Eastern background. Meaning Quite, or rather."

"Thats canny good."

"She's canny dead."
