windy_miller
Hi, I've been to ROTW in previous years and REALLY enjoyed it apart from having to sqeeze about 26 of us into a 16 seater bus because it was the last one travelling back to Bedford (what STUPID planning on the bus company's behalf!!). Anyway, I would be really grateful if you would let me know how to contact the camp site you say is local Do you have any idea when New Groove Formation & The Swarmis are playing this year? Can't get a set list online & won't be travelling to Hitchin till the Sat PS What sort of music do you play? We'll endeavour to catch you if it's not before the last bus back! windy_miller
Did anyone go? I had a blast playing with monobloco on the market place stage
thatcats
Didn't arrive in Hitchin until 5pm and was surprised at the size of the crowds compared to last year - it was packed. Sadly there were quite a few drunk teenagers and an awful amount of litter - hope that it gets the go ahead for next year as it still has a great atmosphere. We loved Monobloco and Toque Tambor - you guys have amazing energy. Asked for you at the side of the stage before you went on but got very strange looks trying to explain I was looking for Windy Miller lol! windy_miller
haha! None of Toque Tambor know me as Windy Miller! Glad you enjoyed the show.
swax
I'm the stage manager of the stage you played on Windy, and I have to say, getting the whole of you lot on stage plus mono-blocco was quite a challenge! You don't want to know how much the stage was moving with you all on it! (All within safety tolerences of course!) This year there were lots of issues with Rubbish, drunk teenagers, but even I was surprised at the amount of people who turned up. Thank you to those who gave money to the collectors, we raised just over 11 thousand pounds in total on the day. Say Hi to JP for me! windy_miller
Rhythms Of The World is on this weekend (12th and 13th July) in Hitchin. http://www.rotw.org.uk/ Due to the problems with litter and drunken twats in previous years, this year's festival is not being held in the town centre and is not free. Its being held at Hitchin Priory and is £5 entry. Also, there is no re-entry, so if you leave the site, you'll have to pay another £5 to get in again. It may seem harsh, but it is a condition of their license. Tickets can be bought from local shops. I'm pretty certain you can just pay on the door though (as long as the site isn't full) I am playing with Toque Tambor who will be joining Monobloco on stage at 6:30pm on the Sunday. There are some youtube clips of us playing last year here...
crosswillcastyourshadow
My band mate cris lives in hitchin & has been telling me good things about this festival for ages. We were trying to get on the bill this year but didn't manage it. I would go down, But i live about 100 miles away & I think I'm off to the beautiful day out anyway. Have a good time if you're going

windy_miller
Thanks for the links - can only get to ROTW tomorrow so will miss your performance but will see you at WOMAD. Shame that the festival is no longer in the town but looking forward to the new venue - hope the sun shines! Hope that tickets are available at the entrance as I wasn't sure if I could go there until today.
thatcats
In the end we couldn't even go on Saturday. Glad to hear that the event had less litter and a good atmosphere - hope that it was a sell out. Hope to go next year but REALLY looking forward to WOMAD next week. Dave
I went for a good few hours on Sunday - really relaxed atmosphere and a success! Look See Proof were fantastic, really good performance. Seemed really well organised, good stalls and people picking up litter wherever we went. I was a bit wary of it moving out of the town as I thought it may lose some of the magic, but let it continue in the priory
