I'm pretty confident that the 'official' Fests Sleep Counter does exactly what it says on the tin and provides the right answer ... but then again, I would say that wouldn't I  However, for any doubting Thomas out there, there was a discussion about the maths etc. somewhere further back up the thread when I was sorting out the counter code and some friendly geeks IT Specialists independently confirmed that all was indeed well. The timing is as accurate as the clock setting on your 'puter. BTW, it also takes into account that the clocks go forward between now and the big day so that's why there is an apparent -1 hour 'error' at the moment. Glasto is 1 hour closer than you first think ! But then again, this year is also a leap year so it could be that Glasto is 23 hours further away than you first think :) It should work properly and give the correct answer across different time zones as well of course. All you overseas peeps might be jet-lagged when you arrive but the Sleep Counter wont be. Also, 'sleeps' is always in theory 1 more than 'days'. Think about it, anytime after 0800 on the Tuesday before Glasto means zero days but there is technically still one sleep left. Claiming not sleeping the night before is most definitely cheating no matter how true it may well be :P

Liking the recent piccies, unusual is defo good B) However I have a sneaky suspicion that this thread might well get pruned sometime soon tho in the drive to slim down the mass of forum content before the busy season starts in anger. It'll be a real shame if that does need to happen but I can understand the benefit in general by archiving/removing vast quantities of older material. If it does need a trim then can I please suggest that posts from immediately after last years Glasto get kept in the current thread so the Glasto 2008 count-down begins at 365 or whatever the first post was ?

Bestest thread ever !

Well, as this thread is sub-titled SLEEP COUNTING, I'm gonna stick with 144 for today!

Edited to say, posted before reading MikeB's comment (above) but in FULL agreement with it..!

Fear not ... there's no confusion at all, the counter was coded exactly to your spec because occasionally, some peeps were getting it a bit wrong some of the time. Someone else on here got a bunch of friendly geeks IT guys to confirm it did that's all. Time-zero is 0800 hours on Wednesday 25th June and 'sleeps' includes (trying to) sleep on the Tuesday night. Just as it should be and just the way you like it :O

And today, having just dragged my sorry carcass out of my pit, that first Pear Cider to be consumed in a lush green field with all the flags providing just a lil dappled shade from the scorching sun as they flutter around in the gentle breeze ... is one sleep closer at 141 than it was yesterday. Yaaaaaay !

Mmmmm, starting to get close enough that you can almost smell the longdrops recently mown grass :)

Well then, it's all nice and sunny outside again this morning which can mean only thing ... I feel one of these coming on. I only ever post on nice and sunny days (or at stupid o'clock when it's very dark but quite obviously well nice and sunny somewhere round the other side of the world !) in order to honour the Sun Gods. This will clearly ensure that they will smile upon us whilst we're consuming mucho Pear Cider Perry somewhere in a field in Somerset in late June :)

I like to lighten up my work place with happy chatter about Glastonbury all day long, much to the annoyance of my poor misguided workmates who have never been or never likely to go to Glastonbury
