Just had a phone call from one of the staff members there asking me to post up on all the festival forums with an update.

There was a pretty serious amount of rainfall overnight and an executive decision was made in the early hours of the morning to stop the majority of attendees coming on site today for fear of ruining the water-logged ground with excessive footfall.

However, the weather has gotten better, most of the serious standing water has gone, the car park didn't flood and Shambala Festival is 100% go! He mentioned that they'd be letting people on site from 10am tomorrow, but I think they're encouraging people to leave it a little later if possible to give the site more time to dry out and ensure the most pleasant experience for all.

See ya tomorrow everyone! <3

An enjoyable enough weekend. Not band focused, unlike others such as Beautiful Days. Good flat site. Plenty of Tarquin's & Tabitha's about. The circle layout helps to stop boredom. Amazing bass in the Kamzkaike tent. Beer - £3.50 a pint. Toilets, cleaned daily - turdis type. Low level security. Lovely woods and gardens. Would i go again - no, not for me again.

We've got our tickets :) HELLO, HELLO, HELLO (and HELLO) :P I was only looking on here yesterday but couldn't find the thread. Checked again today and who do I see but you. How are you? Hope you're all okay and coming this year. If you are we'll have to meet up for a drink. I really miss the Shhh forum. They've started using Facebook but it's not the same. Please say you're coming.

Right Shambala people this is a call for action. You probably know that last time Shambala got a new website they dropped their forum and started using Facebook, which meant a community of people disappeared. Facebook is rubbish by comparion and hardly anyone uses the shambala discussion boards, however the folks at Shambala have agreed to look into bringing back their own forum if enough people ask, SO PLEASE ASK.

Here's were you can add your voice and request the old forum is brought back.

Well done xrayspecs, your right the facebook disscusions boards just not being used properly, dont actualy think that anybody realy know that they are there, and there was so many of us chatting away before and well after the festival, then they just cut us dead, dont think they realised the power of the website forum, not to mention on facebook we all use our real names so know one reconises each other from our avatar names on the forum !

I've just started making my fancydress costume. If the weather's ok tomorrow we're going to the local car boot sale so I can look for a kichen clock cos I going as a Grandfather clock. Anyone else know what they're going as yet?

By the way Sarahnatbenamy I see you won the photo competition, well done :)

Hey guys!

Just checked the FB page, seems a bit poor to be honest.

Anyway, it's my first time this year, going it alone!

Really looking forward to it, but could someone tell me if Shambala have rules on alcohol and such? Can't seem to find it on the site...

Cheers and see you all soon! :)

outlinereality Good news on the alcohol front. You can bring, I think they say something like "as much as is reasonable" to drink yourself. In practice all they're interested in is that you don't bring glass on site. There's also a great real ale tent and other bars scattered around and the prices are reasonable so you won't get ripped off even though they use the bar as a money generator. We usually bring our own alcohol but use the bars too because I like to support them since this is my favourite festie. There's no bag searches or anything like that, it's very laid back.

I don't know if you're into the idea of fancydress but on the Saturday night there's a fancydress parade which the vast majority of people get involved in. It's a great thing to be part of. So, get yourself an outfit and go for it.
