Hi guys. Just re-read this thread from the start and noticed your posts. I realise they were put on 10 months ago but hopefully you will see this and reply.

My question is (other than the horrid stuff, like your coats being taken and men in the tent), what made last year not as good as previous years?

For me last year seemed to have lost a bit of it's sparkle. There was a bit of an edge to the atmospere that I've not noticed before. Don't get me wrong it wasn't like there was a menasing feel or anything. It just felt like something had gone and been replaced by something less nice. I can't really describe it, it'd lost it's mojo. Also quite a few of the regular venues had gone, it was more squashed together. Saying that I do love Shambala so I want to give it another go this year. If I feel the same vibe again this year I might knock it on the head next year. There so many great festivals out there to try.

Hey guys,

Found the Shambala topic!! Thought there were no like-minded Shambalistas around- found you now though.

Went to Secret Garden Party so definitely in the festival mood and can't wait for Shambala. The line up is the best it's ever been in my opinion.

Generally after the main acts are over or for chilling in the day times I head to The Root's Yard run from people from my home town in Brum. Here's the FB page https://www.facebook.com/TheRootsYard. LIKE it if you want some mixes and a taster of what's to come. Can't wait for Friendly Fire and Riddimtion and generally some irie vibrations!

For a huge blow out though I love Kamikaze. Saw Nextmen in there a couple of years back and they're on the lineup again this year!

Last time I went 2 years ago we all dressed as birds of paradise and the year before we were pirates. Think we need to push the boat out a bit more....

Hoping this link works, for anyone needing inspiration for fancy dress. I was going to forget the theme as I saw a pink pirate costume I like. Now I think I will save that for an event later in the year and dress as a devil. I have the outfit, except for the trident which didn't make it home with me last time.

What is everyone else thinking dressing up wise?

Well I've taken delivery of my second kilt now (the first one was cheap, crap and a waste of money). This new kilt is very good quality vintage 1970's. I've since bought the proper socks and sock sashes (I don't think they are called that). I think I said before that I was tempted to go for the kilt thing. Well now I'm even more tempted. If the weathers good there's a good chance I'll go for it.

I also have a full Hari Krishna costume with all the appropriate beads etc. I was also toying with the idea of wearing this but then thought that the people at shambala might be a bit PC and take umbridge at a stoned and pissed up Hare Krishna staggering around the venue!

Hello, sorry for not replying sooner, it was my birthday last week and I had a fun filled 5 days and was not capable of typing yesterday due to being exhausted!

I am pleased you are giving the kilt consideration. As for the Hari Krishna idea, I really don't know if this would offend people or not, sorry. It's a tricky one. Although at least we would know it was you and could say hi.

Hello Miesh

Belated birthday best wishes. Sounds like you had a ball last week. Yes you'll definitely be able to identify me if I go for the Hari Krishna angle. That said, if you see someone wearing a green kilt that could be me too. Come on over and say hello. Even if it isn't me you'll have interacted with someone new!

Have you got the trident now for your devil's outfit? Not long to go now, thank goodness. Can't wait. Oh and please Lord let the weather be glorious.

hey guys - I've had some $hitty news and now I'm unable to attend Shambala. Gutted - have looked forward to this one since buying the tickets for my missus as part of xmas present.

So, I've now got 2 adult tickets and a car pass for sale - bought for £242 including all fees etc for sale.

Willing to accept £220 - hopefully you can see from my posts here and around the forums that I'm a genuine fella, and this is an opportunity to pick up some legit tickets with 10% knocked off.

absolutely gutted about this - I've bought and got into some great Vieux Farka Toure and twinkle brothers stuff over the last few months. Twinkle brothers live cd arrived through the post yesterday, talk about cruel.....

Well less than a week to go, fingers crossed for some dry weather. Got totally soaked at The Green Gathering the other week. I know it's Britain so we take what we are given weather wise but dry weather definately helps.

We've got everything sorted and ready to go now. Just got 2 more days in work then it's time to unwind again. Just saw Tony Benn on the programme so I'll be adding him to my list, heard him in Glasto a few years back, the man's a living legend.

See you all in 6 sleeps :oD

Not long now!

I feel sad for the chap who can no longer make it, I hope things get better.

Did anyone spot the typing error on the essential info guide?

As crew I didn't get one but saw the correction on the Facebook page and it made me laugh.

Looking forward to packing tomorrow.
