Out of Kate Gash, Hoosiers or Scouting for Girls, I'd have to prefer the Gashmiester. She is the least wrist slashing of the 3. As far as I know, there is no exclusivity between T and Belladrum. Wouldn't make much sense, owning to the vastly differing scale and time apart. Other headliner maybe Jesus and Mary Chain or My Bloody Valentine? How good would the Flaming Lips be?

as far as I know, the exclusivity thing with t is that if you play t, then you don;t do any other fesival in scotland that year..that may be complete rubbish..but was told that scouting for girls put two fingers up to t and said they'd do what the liked..

out of those three, I'd take the hoosiers..only one out of the three I've actually enjoyed live before (thought that might have been the cider)...but they are still along long way from headline material!

If the headliners are someone I really wouldn't want to see it wouldn't really bother me greatly - there's been headliners in past years that I wasn't interested in seeing (but plenty other people were which was fine, we can't all like the same thing) There's always other things going on at the same time. I went to see Michael Marra the year the Proclaimers were on (tho' he came to a bit of a sudden end as the elec tricity went out in the tent) - I can't even remember who the headliners were 2 years ago - was it Echo and the Bunnymen? Only went to that because a friend was mad to see them. Who was headlining the ohter night? Somebody we didn't fancy but we got some brilliant other band in a tent instead. And last year I wasn't really excited about the Magic Numbers or James - the Magic Numbers were quite good actually, I saw the 2nd half of James, they were OK, but loads of people had a brilliant time seeing them. I remember much more some of the 'smaller' bands I saw.

It is great if it's someone you really enjoy on the main stage last thing, with big crowds, lights etc but it's not the end of the world if it's someone you don't like. There's plenty going on elsewhere. ;) So, be of good cheer, one and all.

Having said that I'll kill myself if it's Amy McDonald or Sandi Thom

Glad I haven't bought tickets yet, but I'll be tempted if the line up is good. Doesn't sound like it might be.

My money's on Deacon Blue if somebody from that list of Scottish acts is playing. ;)

Last time I was there (2005) I seem to remember there was nothing else on when the headliners were on - not sure if that was due to a haze of real ale though!?

but there is no-one good headlining there either ;) (imo, feel very indifferent to Supergrass and The Coral) and I certainly couldn't face a long drive down to Leicester esp if we may be driving down to Leeds a week or so later (tickets pending!!), we had looked into this festival as well too .

it's only a 1 1/2 hour drive to Bella for us and it's a cheap weekend away meeting friends and chilling out, letting the kids run free - 3 nights camping in any big campsite is about £55 high season anyway so the extra £100 on top isn't bad for all 4 of us to find entertainment for 2 full days. ( at SSW it would be another £100 plus extra fuel on top of what it costs for us to go to Bella, next year when we have to pay for the kids tickets it'll be different)

I have to face it hardly any festivals do I ever like the headliners, haven't liked the Bella ones the last 2 years i have been ( except The Magic Numbers were okay) but I think we'll still go this year as it's the kids last year of being free & it's the end to their summer where heaps of them all meet up. Next year we'll be more picky as we'd have to pay for 4 tickets. :O

Only one headliner has been announced, Supergrass. It takes us about 4 hours to get to Bella, only an hour less than getting to Leicester. Plus It only works out another £60 for us, and considering its a 3 day festival it works out around the same on a per day basis.

It will all depend on who gets announced for each festival, but I feel after 3 years it may be time for a change anyway :( but Gillian loves Supergrass, and I like quite a few acts that are playing SS.

Also thought about Wizard but Caitlin will be back at school then.

I think we have already established that statement was bullshit
