johnnykipper
I've heard rumours of the headliners too, but my source has never proved 100% reliable in the past though so am hoping they are wrong this year, as I'm not impressed...the Sat headliners I've never heard of, the Friday..well, they played Bella last year, and apparently are playing t this year as well...tho I always thought that T had an exclusivity clause that any band playing there couldn't play any other scottish festival... saraha
oh god, i think that's it then, I hate SFG sooo much, why couldn't it have been a different one of the many samey bands- that i didn't hate sooo much. A tent act it will be then. I think it is a headliner that will appeal to families as many of the young kids & older ones too will love it to sing along to and it's all pretty unoffensive, since the festival does have a family base. My daughter and her friends will be happier since mostly the last couple of years the headliners have certainly never appealed to them at all. thedementedpoppet
Please explain how you think that
Paul ™
I could make a list, but whats the point which I think the majority of the feeling related to the first headliners is related to music snobbery
music_nutter
Utter pish When is the Saturday headliner announced? If it's just as poor, we will be heading elsewhere
thedementedpoppet
It's nothing to do with musical snobbery, it's about a headline act that is not worth that place on the line up.. with 2 songs that didn't make the Top 5.

Paul ™
er ok. So popularity as judged by the music singles charts is a measurement of "worthiness"??????????
Paul ™
FFS! Buckfast! So their manager is from Inverness, explains a lot.

Kowalski
Why do you think Scouting For Girls are worthy of a headline?
Paul ™
They are worthy of this sort of headline... "SCOUTING FOR GIRLS SPLIT AFTER POOR RECORD SALES"

Gowie
I'm very much in 2 minds about this. It is a 'family festival' afterall. And frankly, nobody seems happy with any festival's headliners this year. Exept T I suppose. SFG just aren't my thing, I may see them, I may not. And compared to 2006, this is hardly disasterous. Just pleeeeeeeeease don't let the Saturday headliners be some fiddly-diddly, mountain and heather bumming Scottish band. They have their place, but not headlining. Paul ™
I think Tartan Heart will still sell well (am I right in thinking they sold out the last 2 years?)

stevieg72
Looking back through the posts i am starting to worry about the sat haedliner now and the festival in general this year
irons
Ah well, the kids will be pleased. They like them. I'm just hoping that the rest of the line-ups better than this thou, I'm sure it will be. Wierd headliner thou for a festival with a lot of older folk there. Due to their no 1 album I suppose, and possibly their contacts in Inverness. But it's only 1 band and still plenty to come yet.
Paul ™
Yeah of course there could be a fantastic Saturday headliner and undercard to match... but if the top act on the Friday is SFG, then the undercard that day will be decidedly weak... as not many good acts will want to play below them
bunter
Yup its a terrible announcement, but every cloud has a silver lining - think of all the nubile young fillies that will follow this lot to bella!!! Another bonus is you wont get any wee neds being seen dead near a SFG gig thus leaving more room for the punani and at the same time cutting out competition. Seriously, some of you guys on here need your head looked at. The clue is in the name. I for one will be there purely for the music and the fresh highland air...
