Sex Pistols headlining the Saturday

Steve Jones has just confirmed the Pistols will be headlining the IOW Festival on the Saturday night. For those of you who dont know, he's the Sex Pistols guitarist, and now presents his own radio show in the USA.

I went to 3 of their recent gigs and thought they were brilliant, but it's all a matter of taste at the end of the day.

Be great if they headline, the pistols are one of the most important bands of the last 50 years. The announcements get better and better.

Steve Jones has been talking about Sex Pistols shows next summer on Jonesy's Jukebox today. In addition to the gig in Sweden, Steve said the Pistols will headline the Isle Of Wight Festival in 2008 on the Saturday, and also said a show at the Albert Hall is under discussion.

I reckon Jones got it wrong. Surely Giddings isn't mad enough to have them as headliners? If so, he's lost all credibility he got from having the Stones.

wasnt expecting this when i woke up. if they are healdlining their is no way on earth i will get a ticket, afternoon slot then yes i will go but headlining is a joke i was really starting to look forward to radiohead aswell.

Was thinking about IoW this year - but if it is Kaiser Chiefs as rumoured, Sex Pistols and the Police as headliners, I'm going to find a different festival, as that's a pretty dreadful trio of headliners to have. Two long-past-it headliners and one headliner that were never any good, considering the last two years headliners I'd say that they've gotten it very wrong.

I have a feeling that, as the rumours suggested, he was trying for Radiohead but that they blew him out (I guess in the last day or two, judging from the Radiohead announcements) ... and as he'd promised announcements he then had to find something quickly to fill the gap. Then again, I could be completely wrong.
