Why is it decent lads always get the 'I just want to be mates' line?

My pal is attractive, funny, kind and considerate. Yet every girl he's had anything start with, gets swiftly ended by her either messing him about because she can't make her mind up what she wants, or she turns round and says she just wants to be friends.

Should he be more of a bastard? I'm sure he feels like he should be at times. poor guy.

Edit: to explain the reason I bring this up now is I've just recieved a text off him telling me the girl he's been seeing and actually getting somewhere with just recently has just sent him the 'lets just be friends' text.

ah the old "lets be friends" line.

cop out line if you ask me. Just means she doesnt fancy him, or fancy him enough to be in a relationship with him (and this after "seeing him" for a period of time it sounds like...nice).

Class. I do love irony.

Yes.

A bastard is cool and makes you conceited enough to get the f**k off clothes and don't care attitude required to not settle down with the first girl that comes your way.

You see, the choosing of potential partners amongst women is decided by the dominant female. If she accepts them, then the entire female group will want them so that they can learn from them and their experiences. Females like an experienced male you see. That's why bastards are found to be attractive and also why they move on to other women so quickly.

Seeeeeee, I can do slushy romance stuff :P

Hmmmm, she slept with him only 2 weeks back, surely she fancied him enough then?

Women are strange.

Maybe it's because she doesn't want to be with him but wants to remain friends... As in if she didn't want anything to do with him she would have told him where to go????

I don't like men who are bastards and never have. I really don't get the "arrogance is attractive" thing.

Maybe she has something else going on in her life that means she doesn't want to go out with him. Maybe she realised she doesn't fancy him that much after all.
